I wish more toxic leaders would realize this 👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿 You can’t fix yourself By breaking someone else: ❌ Yelling & shouting ❌ Spreading rumors ❌ Blaming & shaming ❌ Manipulating & lying ❌ Demanding & unrealistic And more. For some toxic leaders, these behaviors provide a sense of temporary relief and rush of power. Only to disappear hours later, starting the cycle all over again in our workplaces. And it doesn’t heal what’s broken within. It doesn’t fix, repair, patch, mend, rebuild, or repair that hole inside. Because you can’t fix yourself By breaking someone else. So how many individuals do toxic leaders get “to break” until enough is enough? #leadership #culture #inclusion #MitaMallick

🔑 Organizations should be held accountable for the actions of their leadership. Too many toxic environments exist because of “Failed” leaders who are allowed to stay in positions of power! We all pay the price, and in my humble opinion… “It is too EXPENSIVE!”

BIG QUESTION...why are some leaders toxic and what can we do to elimate this horendously costly problem? Lets share our ideas. Here are two of mine: ....only recruit people who are not toxic and do not have the propensity to be toxic. This takes skill and thorough checking of their work history. The pay off from doing this well is extraordinary. ...have employees do confidential reviews of their leaders / managers. Please add your suggestions. Its time to clear out what's toxic.

I’ve worked with so many ’leaders’ who project their insecurities onto others - often without any awareness of the damaging impact this has on employee confidence and morale, AND business growth and potential. What I’ve seen is that too often those at the top are too cowardly to challenge this toxic behaviour and consequently, we see these people staying in their positions, unaware of their impact, unaware that they need to change, unaware of the damage they’re causing ALL because their employers are too scared to brave uncomfortable conversations and too reluctant to damage fragile egos…. and so the problem persists.

I'm going to refrain from writing a book in this comment section. I will just say this. The toxic leader has a story of their own which must be addressed at the route. If they're willing to do the work, it can turn their organization upside down and go against the grain of the statistical data that is against them. That is all for now...stay epic Mita Mallick 🤲🏾💙

It's the insecure manager that feels the need to belittle others...

Indeed, an insecure leader is a dangerous one. Real leaders are secure in their strengths and limitations.

Definitely. There are a lot of people out there who point finger to others vs looking inside. No one is perfect so instead of blaming other people when things don't work, take a moment and ask yourself " What is that I could have done better in this situation?" And do not feel ashamed to say I am sorry if you realize things could have been better or make it up to that person. Powerful people know when to say I made a mistake and I am sorry. Unfortunately in leadership many people do not recognize when they make mistakes out of fear they can be seen as bad leaders, however vulnerability starts from the top. When leaders do say that, other people follow.

I fully agree. We need to analyse the destructive behaviour. Mostly it is because this person feels threatened. We get them everywhere in society. The problem is that if this behaviour is not stopped immediately, it will always continue. And we see this many times in education. I simply do not allow people to speak to me in insulting bullying way. We determine how people treat us. And if all avenues have been explored, then you need to find your happiness. Because this person is toxic.

Toxic leaders CANNOT realize. Lol. That's a large part of what makes them toxic.
