In this #lab, an atmosphere of satisfaction and efficiency prevailed, as work Creating proceeded faster and more smoothly than ever before. Every lab worker could transfer #measurement data directly and in a matter of seconds into the #LIMS system. Creating laboratory reports and evaluations, which once took hours, was now a matter of minutes. Here's a step-by-step guide with an example: 💥 Step-by-Step Guide ➡️ #Understand_Chromatogram The chromatogram is a graph with #Time on the #X_axis and #Detector_response (often absorbance) on the #Y_axis. Each peak represents a different compound in the sample. ➡️ #Identify_Peaks ⚫ #Retention_Time (tR): The time at which the peak appears. There have been many FDA 483s and warning letters due to poor data management practices related to #chromatography being a major technique. However, #standaloneinstruments like UV or FTIR have similar challenges related to data management, some of the citations are as follows: - System is not validated - System has no feature of audit trails - Analytical instruments are both equipped with commercial software that does not prevent accidental or intentional deletion of files containing data. - QC operators have the option of not saving the IR spectra. - The software having an option to enable or disable automatic saving of measurement available to the chemist. - FT-IR spectrophotometers used in identity testing were observed to have a "delete" option available to the user. - The use of directories in the operating system for data storage where a user can delete spectral files without any record in the application software. - No controls to prevent deletion of data and deleted FT-IR data was observed in the computer recycle bin. - Data can be deleted off the FT-IR used in the testing of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). - The data can be deleted off the computer systems hard drive, outside of the system software, and therefore not captured by the systems audit trail. - Laboratory personnel can change and save changes to the date and time setting in the Windows operating system. A closure look reveals that almost citations are due to the poor design of the system. Hence, this is very important to design your URS compliant with the requirements during the procurement phase of the system. Suppliers are market driven, and if users don't ask for these features, or help into how to implement them, then they won't be delivered.
