The definition of a “job hopper” must change. There are some very acceptable reasons why people move on. 👉 They wanted to expand their skill set and responsibilities. 👉 They wanted to explore a new industry or vertical. 👉 They wanted to be challenged. 👉 They wanted more money. 👉 They wanted the respect and appreciation they deserve. All of these reasons are acceptable, justifiable and relatable. It’s 2022 and employers need to accept this new normal: 📣 The average length spent at a job is 2 years and 3 months. "The Great Resignation" has us all focused on employees who are leaving their jobs, but there’s something we all need to remember…. Loyalty is everything.  Today, I want to acknowledge those employees that 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 and the companies that provide them with a 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲. It’s a two way street. When you look out for people, they look out for you.  Loyalty is rare…if you find it, keep it. There are a lot of people starting new jobs this month and your first few weeks can be nerve wracking. My best advice for day 1 is… BE AN OBSERVER You already won them over in the interview process and your new employer already made the decision that they want you there. Listen, take it all in, react and add value when appropriate.  Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
