🤖 Exactly a year in the making, sparked by a conversation during CES 2023 in the lobby of the Cosmo with Cheryl Guerin, Jay Altschuler, Traci Spiegelman and Mark Jones around the need for inclusive AI and how Mastercard can bring value to their small business owners. We quickly pulled in the amazing Michele McCray-Howard and Create Labs Ventures team to help us bring this seed of an idea life - amongst many others who were so integral within brand, tech, creative, and especially legal 🙃) This Generative AI tool will be responsibly built on diverse and inclusive content from Mastercard and a newly formed global media coalition which we will license their business content—such as articles, podcasts and interviews. Big thank you to Group Black, TelevisaUnivision, Blavity Inc. , and Newsweek for being in our inaugural cohort! So honored to work with such a great brand and people who are hungry for innovative ways to drive purpose and value. Thank you Raja Rajamannar for championing and leading this initiative with us 🙌
Beyond thrilled to share something near and dear to my heart. A year ago at CES we dreamed up an idea on how to help solve the problem of bias in AI. While we knew we couldn't tackle it at large, we decided to focus on Small Business, a sector that holds tremendous inclusivity challenges for diverse entrepreneurs. We wanted to help level the playing field, and thus, in partnership with Create Labs Ventures, we conceptualized Mastercard Small Business AI, an inclusive Artificial Intelligence tool that delivers customized assistance for all small business owners, anytime, anywhere, as they navigate their unique and varied business hurdles. Not only will the AI tool deliver data from Mastercard’s existing repository of content – from the Small Business Community, Digital Doors, Mastercard Trust Center, Strive USA, and elsewhere – a newly formed global media coalition will contribute to that by licensing their business content—such as articles, podcasts and interviews. The following are slated to be the inaugural participants: Blavity Inc. , Newsweek, Group Black, and TelevisaUnivision. To say I am proud of our small team is an understatement (Jay Altschuler, Michele McCray-Howard, Michael Liu we did it!). Thanks for the inspiration, leadership and more so the confidence in us to make this happen, Cheryl Guerin & Raja Rajamannar!! And a huge thank you to the countless individuals/teams at Mastercard who are partnering with us to bring this to life- it takes a village. Now the fun begins!
