I recently attended a stand-up comedy performance by the famous Vipul Goyal. The show lasted 1.5 hours, and I was captivated by his storytelling from start to finish. This demonstrates the power of effective storytelling. Storytelling isn't always confined to the stage, it is a skill that applies to daily situations as well. STORYTELLING; MAKING A LIFE OUT OF GREAT AND DIFFICULT MOMENTS Beyond the Glare. Humanizing Celebrities. This is a post I have been willing to share with you since the release of their series on Netflix. Because Beckham's Untold Story is just an example. Victoria Beckham's choice of the word "#THERAPY" to describe their recording journey sparks a deep reflection on the psychological benefits of storytelling as well as the importance of seeing the human behind the fame. TOO FAST TO PROCESS The fast-paced life they lead, shared by many public figures from various walks of life, have thousands of hidden difficult #human experiences—often overlooked and forgotten, both by themselves and the society around them. EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS Victoria's role as the #emotionalanchor in their relationship is an aspect I would like to underline here, as this role is too often overlooked in relationships where the main "visible figure" may be the other half. To me, this emotional foundation is probably what many reviewers have tried to spot as "the unspoken secret ingredient that binds them together". It was the feelings they felt for each other that got them together and the same ones that keep them together today. Feelings of love, admiration, protection, etc. LIFE AND GEOGRAPHIC TRANSITIONS Another great invisible challenge for celebrities is life transitions. As parents, they experience situations that go beyond most people's imagination. The #fear and #loneliness they feel when confronted with threats and expected to perform at the same level despite the events occurring in their lives is huge. No one seems to see beyond the "golden cage" they can afford to live in. The series also sheds light on the challenges of international transitions, with Victoria candidly admitting the lack of time to fully assimilate some geographical transitions for which they were not given more than 12 hours to prepare. These situations trigger in them (as much as in any other human being) the #survival mode in their brains, a mode where pushing aside unpleasant emotions (such as pain and fear) becomes essential for dealing with other aspects of these moments of their lives. STORYTELLING; MAKING A LIFE OUT OF GREAT AND DIFFICULT MOMENTS The #narrative becomes a powerful tool for healing, shedding light on the unseen challenges faced by every part of the family unit. Reviewing the past and allowing all its parts to "be seen" (especially by the person who lived it but also by others) is a great opportunity for a brighter present and future as a person, couple, and family. This was one of the first ever brand videos I shot over 5 years ago and way before I decided to go to university to study all things film production 👩🏻🎓🙏🏻🎥 is it my best work (absolutely not) but shooting this video was one of the major catalysts for me going back to university to study and fast forward five years, I am now a professional filmmaker working alongside businesses producing their video content. I had no lighting, no storyboard, no crew, no real plan for this shoot 🤯 I just knew that a flower shop would be visually interesting and armed with my Canon750d I walked in and asked them if I could shoot them a promo video (they agreed) and honestly I did not have a clue what I was doing but this is what I ended up with 💪🏻🎥🎬👏🏻 There is immense value in stepping outside of your comfort zone and challenging yourself. When we willingly throw ourselves into the deep end, be it in our personal or professional lives, we open doors to growth and discovery that may have otherwise remained closed. By taking the plunge, we offer ourselves the opportunity to test our limits, learn from failures, and demonstrate the true extent of our capabilities. It's all too easy to succumb to the fear of the unknown and remain within the confines of familiarity. But it is in these moments of uncertainty that we learn the most valuable lessons about ourselves. "Simple yet powerful storytelling shines in the movie "Laapataa Ladies". Similar to this film, when crafting content for your Personal Brand, our focus should prioritize impactful storytelling. We don't need complex language or intricate scripts, all we need is to present our content in the simplest manner possible, while considering the audience's emotions. Our aim should be to create content that resonates audience's emotions. Though I'm not typically a fan of movies or web series, but I recently watched "Laapataa Ladies" on the recommendation of a friend Anshika Jain and I was thoroughly impressed by its storytelling prowess. 🙂 This movie effectively conveys its message about empowerment in a remarkably simple yet powerful way. I am never in awe of people with important names and fancy titles. I learned from my son, who runs @GVG Agency ( https://www.gvgagency.com/) with clients like "Star Trek actor William Shatner and singer Lisa Loeb, that celebrities are people like us and are mostly approachable when their personal boundaries are not abruptly breached. My former colleague Diane Burley realizes that high-tech concepts should not be kept off-limits to everyday people by overcomplicating and confusing them by using unfamiliar industry jargon and in-the-weeds ideas they may not easily understand as laypeople. Sometimes, good storytelling helps break complex things down into basic human terms and turn questions about even the most complicated technologies into people-friendly explanations that any novice can easily understand.

Storytelling isn’t enough anymore. Last June I attended a stand-up comedy. Jason Leong is a laugh-out-loud hilarious guy. He used to be a doctor but now a successful comedian. He even has 2 shows on Netflix and tours around the world doing shows. Now we’re definitely not as funny as Jason…  But we can still tell a good story.  Our story. So we stand out amongst millions of others. But we don’t want to just tell any story that comes to mind. It has to be strategic. For example, if we start sharing stories about — our dog — our quirky uncle — or our wise old grandma — and nothing else… Then what happens? We get cheerleaders. Likes and comments praising our storytelling skills or cooing over how adorable our dog looks. But when it comes to sales? Cricketsssss. If we want stories that lead to sales, tie the stories back to our business or offer. And the key to doing that effectively? A smooth transition. The smoother the transition from story to offer, the less salesy it feels. And that’s why storytelling alone isn’t enough anymore.
