For the past three years I’ve had the privilege of leveraging my technical background to advance policies and programs across the government that set America on a path to a healthier future. In the United States Senate, I had the opportunity to author and pursue meaningful legislation and oversight that tackled issues across health innovation, regulation, and public health. At The National Institutes of Health (NIH), I developed and enhanced programs supporting small businesses converting scientific discoveries into healthcare solutions and initiatives strengthening the pipeline of new entrepreneurs and ideas in the American biomedical sector. It’s been exhilarating to see my work enacted in law and realized in practice. I’m proud of and grateful for this time, enabled by the Biophysical Society and AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships, and profoundly appreciative of the opportunities and support offered by my incomparable mentors Sara Maskornick and Stephanie Fertig, dedicated colleagues, tremendous host offices, and inspiring fellow Fellows. I look forward to continuing my public service as I build upon these formative experiences and my foundational engineering training to improve lives through better health and physical well-being!
