I have always believed we are here to thrive and better yet, thrive on purpose. What we need is clear meaningful purpose and strong drive, which I call wholehearted commitment, by choosing to let go of something in our ‘busy’ lives, so that we allow space for a meaningful project/activity to happen. What else? The right Team, which maintains the same level of commitment and passion for meaning and purpose. So today's Allan Gray Orbis Foundation's questions of the day are: "What does a legacy mean to you?" and "What do you want your legacy to be?" I've pondered these questions for years, and today, I share my answer. As young individuals navigating through life's complexities—balancing school, work, and personal lives—it's easy to lose sight of our purpose. We often forget to reflect on why we do what we do every day. To me, a legacy is about making a lasting impact on the world and leaving it better than we found it. It's about creating opportunities for others that endure beyond our own lifetime, much like Dr. Allan Gray did with the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation. His creation has outlived him, impacting future leaders, business owners, and visionaries. Now, what do I want my legacy to be? In the past, I dreamed of fast cars and wealth—materialistic goals. But over the years, my dreams have shifted toward envisioning a better tomorrow and creating a meaningful impact. I hope my legacy reflects a commitment to fostering growth and providing opportunities for others. I want to help change lives, particularly for those less fortunate than I am. Growing up in Africa, our dreams often seem distant. I aim to bridge the gap between Africa and the rest of the world. More importantly, I want to inspire other Africans to believe in the possibility of their dreams coming true, no matter where they are now. I want my journey to be a testament that with determination, hard work, and the right opportunities, we can achieve our aspirations and create a better future for ourselves and our communities. I'll close with this: Who you are today doesn't define who you are tomorrow, but the decisions we make today shape what we become tomorrow. #AGOFJam
