Did you know: During WWII the U.S. funded the nation's first (and only) universal child care program in American history? We needed women in the workforce so we designed the workforce for families. But the men came back from war, and we went back to the way things were before — broken. And not much has changed since. At #AspenIdeasFestival, Moms First's Founder and CEO, Reshma Saujani, shared this little history lesson alongside Grace Bastidas, Jenna Bush Hager, and Aliza Pressman, Ph.D., discussing some of the most pressing issues on the minds of parents today. We're relentless in our fight to win affordable child care, paid leave, and equal pay because we know we can make it a reality — because we’ve done it before. We're driven by our belief that when moms come together and fight for ourselves, we can once and for all revolutionize our society, workplaces, and policies to *finally* work for moms.

The Senate Finance Committee held a hearing on federal solutions to the childcare crisis this week. The public has two weeks to submit comments advocating for federal action. I'm surprised I haven't seen this account covering it.
