We have some good news and some bad news. Good news: In the U.S., women now hold a record 79 million jobs. Bad news: Working moms (who make up a significant portion of those entering or returning to the labor market) are balancing more responsibility than ever, managing both their careers and their households In a recent article by Rachel Wolfe and Justin Lahart in The Wall Street Journal, Sarika Paralkar, a member of Motherhood and a mother of two, shared that sometimes she feels like she is not meeting her own expectations as a mother or an employee. “As much as I appreciate the flexibility, I often feel like I would rather go into work so that I don’t have the constant drumbeat in my head of the chores that need to happen around the house,” said Paralkar.  As moms, this is a narrative we know all too well: doing it all—and paying the mental, physical, and emotional price as a result. But, it's a story that we can rewrite for ourselves. And our voices are being heard! 100!The ability to balance work and life with kids, care-giving and more as we progress in life is key to staying in the workplace and picking the right one. Businesses can get so much loyalty and great talent if they help employees integrate work and life - work events, kids activities, doctor appts, home tasks, self-care - Family assistants - if employees can bring their whole self to work, they will be able to do their best and stay with the company for much longer! Supporting parents isn't a perk anymore but need of the hour!

I'm experiencing this now, trying to find a remote job while being a stay-at-home mom. It's tough out there.

😢 Yes, for 3 years it was exhausting but I kept pushing thru. I think I'm more stressed out now, not able to find a job.
