Hiring Teams, If a full time freelancer applies to your permanent role and you are wary of hiring them because you don’t think they will be able to switch… Talk to them. Usually if a full time freelancer, especially one with 5 or more years of doing so, wants to apply for a permanent role, they know what they’re doing, and why. Being a freelancer is exhilarating, enriching, and full of opportunities. Being a freelancer is also exhausting, time-consuming, and expensive. Its rewards can be many, but the challenges often match or outweigh them. Many of us don’t desire to do it forever. It really can burn out the soul. So if a freelancer’s resume crosses your desk, and if the portfolio is solid, it is probably worth at least talking to them to see if they’re a good fit. Sincerely, A Freelancer Who Is Tired

What NOT to do if you are a freelancer, looking to get hired.. Here is the struggle I had while finding a developer for my agency.. A lot of candidates might have the perfect skills that are right on spot to what you are looking for, though the lack of communication and good representation skills misses the spot for them.. so, here are a few things NOT to do as a freelancer if you are looking to get hired, 1. NOT having a 'portfolio' to showcase your potential skill-set (trust me, it's important!) 2. NOT having the communication skills to verbally describe your passion, skillset and motivation towards the job. 3. NOT being professional and accommodating towards the recruitment process. 4. SPAM texting the employer regarding the application progress. (It leaves a pathetic impression, be patient, it's gonna work out) 5. OVERPROMISING about your skillset and underdelivering (be honest about what you know and can do) Let me know in comments below if you agree or had similar experiences while recruiting anybody!

I absolutely love seeing individuals across various industries sharing resources, and helping others in their work pursuits. It's tough out there for everyone! Recently, I read an article in Forbes articulating how "the cycle of female rivalry transcends time and space, with women in the professional sphere often viewing one another as obstacles rather than allies." This article goes on to state that "breaking this cycle and channeling our energy to uplift female peers is the most effective route to dismantling professional barriers and reshaping our collective experience as women in the workplace." I wholeheartedly agree, and I aim to become a champion for not only the female-identifying people in the workforce, but the male-identifying and nonbinary individuals as well. So reach out to me! The waves of mass layoffs continue to roll in—many in the media and tech industries. And the abrupt manner in which they're being done is gut-wrenching. Why pick passion over experience? Recently, we started a project that needed someone with specific technical skills. Instead of hiring someone full-time, we decided to hire a freelancer on a contract basis. So, we started finding freelancers, we nearly got 7 to 8 profiles in that domain. While reviewing their profile it seems every one had a great experience on it. But, We selected one freelancer among them, even though she had a gap with her profession. You might wonder, why did we choose her?
