A couple of days ago, I had the privilege of attending an enlightening meetup with the React-IL team and Riverside.fm. The experience still resonates with me. I was particularly fascinated by the lectures on how Riverside.fm leveraged game theory to solve frontend challenges, as well as the insightful discussions on #nextjs and #remix. All this game theory to tackle frontend challenges reminds me of Screeps (screeps.com), a unique MMO RTS where the core mechanic is programming your units' AI using JavaScript. (Nope, not an ad, just a cool tip! 😏) 🎮 I've been putting this off for a while, but the stars have aligned, so... I'm dedicating today to diving into this "Get your head in the game" approach. Especially with a JavaScript interview on the horizon, let's see how this algorithmic prep pays off! Thanks to all the like-minded innovators out there. Let's keep creating remarkable web experiences together! #WebDevelopment #JavaScript #Innovation #GamingInTech
With some delay... but here we are! There is nothing I love more than encouraging (not to say forcing..:)) people to come out of their comfort zone, dare, try new and scary things and discover something new about themselves - that's growth. That's my job. This time, Shayel M. was in it to win it. Took a huge leap, prepared the best looking deck I've ever seen and gave an awesome, inspiring talk. Remember where you saw him first!!! What a Superstar. Now we know :) We had such a great evening with the react-il team, thanks Nur Lee Harel for a great collaboration as always!!! Thanks Nir Kaufman and the other Nir :) for your talks! And most thanks to my phenomenal People team at Riverside!!! These evenings are hard work 😅

2024 Thought of the Week #11: I've slacked off the past two weeks, with some travel two weeks back and then Tinuiti OOO most of last week. But we are back at it with a normal full week now almost under the belt. Now that Q2 is officially upon us, the Summer will soon be kicking into high gear. With that, Prime Day is only about 3 months out (assuming the usual early/mid July date). So it is never too early to start thinking about Prime Day prep. It might sound early, but having a general idea of what you want to accomplish during that event could help pave the way for some testing and learning over these next few months. What do you want to know that you currently do not ahead of the next big tentpole? It's best to have a plan well in advance than scrambling last minute and realizing you let a possible opportunity slip by.

I turned 32! 🥳 Since forever: I've always wanted to run my own company. Didn't know how, didn't know what. Somehow, I just knew. 22-23: The only thing stopping me from turning my idea into a reality (besides needing a shitload of money) was the ability to code. At that time, I was in consulting (FIFO role) and spent each night learning to code in the lobby of my hotel. 24-25: Landed a job in software engineering and met Luannie Dang 👩🏻💻, armed with nothing but a naive dream to start our own company. Enter Shooting Unicorns, a brand/company/whatever it may eventually evolve into. 26-27: Joined a Melbourne-based startup to learn from the best founders. The next two years were spent participating in events and building random stuff together. It turns out finding an idea you’re passionate about is like capturing lightning in a bottle. 28-Now : Founded Pory and made every mistake in the first-time founder book. Yet, I’m still super excited about turning our vision for Pory into a reality. That vision is becoming clearer and more attainable every day. This Year's Highlights: Pory has officially become the longest company I've ever worked at! Phew we've managed to keep the lights on still!💡 I’m on track to run a total of 500km by the end of this year! The distance flying from Melbourne to Canberra is 467km! 🤯
