#Surveys are scary at times (most times). Including the funny ones that mention 40% marriages end in divorce, 60% in death 💀 We’ve seen bad surveys in action as well like #Jira implementing precision in #StoryPoints because most of its users asked for it (my best bet still is that it was a shared data type and they just wanted to cover up a tech debt that was very difficult to solve). There’s a couple more that I’ve seen recently (fake most likely), like one survey that mentioned 90% of developers in #startups say that #ProjectManagers slow them down. Another survey in India suggested that 90% startups fail. Although one shouldn’t draw parallels but humans being humans, one can say that the 10% startups that succeed don’t have a project manager; to go a step further, a very noble organisation can say that the 10% successful startups employ #ScrumMasters. Driving such conclusions from surveys is incorrect and at times dangerous. One of the other I’ve heard several times is that #Agile is a software concept and doesn’t apply to other parts of the business (hence #BusinessAgility).
