Tomorrow, we celebrate Juneteenth, the day that the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom. This important moment in history reminds us of the ongoing journey toward equality and justice in our country. At Compass Group USA, we will honor this day by continuing to advocate for a workplace where every voice is heard, every person feels valued, and diversity is not just celebrated but woven into the fabric of our organization.
May 29th was #NationalBiscuitDay, and several teams throughout our Southeast Division celebrated by competing in a Turkey Sausage Biscuit Challenge! The rules were simple: the turkey sausage needed to be made in-house, additional ingredients should be found in the participating kitchen, and all recipes had to be shared by National Biscuit Day. Recipes our brilliant chefs came up with included ingredients such as Fire Roasted Poblano Cream Cheese, Sriracha Aioli, Saffron Yogurt Honey, and Margarita Honey Butter Glaze. It was a tough decision, but our panel selected Santiago Lopez from the University of Miami Medical as the 1st place winner for his recipe of a Jalapeño Turkey Cheddar Biscuit, Pickled Onions, Pickled Radish, and Chipotle Mayo 😋 Congratulations to Chef Santiago & all of our amazing participants!
