May 29th was #NationalBiscuitDay, and several teams throughout our Southeast Division celebrated by competing in a Turkey Sausage Biscuit Challenge! The rules were simple: the turkey sausage needed to be made in-house, additional ingredients should be found in the participating kitchen, and all recipes had to be shared by National Biscuit Day. Recipes our brilliant chefs came up with included ingredients such as Fire Roasted Poblano Cream Cheese, Sriracha Aioli, Saffron Yogurt Honey, and Margarita Honey Butter Glaze. It was a tough decision, but our panel selected Santiago Lopez from the University of Miami Medical as the 1st place winner for his recipe of a Jalapeño Turkey Cheddar Biscuit, Pickled Onions, Pickled Radish, and Chipotle Mayo 😋 Congratulations to Chef Santiago & all of our amazing participants! Medium & Authority Magazine recently included our very own Chef Jason "Jay Z" Ziobrowski in their interview series "Chefs and Restauranteurs Helping to Promote Healthy Eating." This series aims to raise awareness on the importance of healthy eating by hearing from culinary professionals, such as Chef Jay Z. Chef Jeffrey Quasha, our Sr. Director of Culinary Innovation, recently joined the "Food-as-Medicine" panel at FoodService Director Online's Menu Directions Conference to discuss the role of food in a patient's healing journey.
