That here is a new type of robot with a cable-driven mechanism. Before seeing Supriya Rathi's post, I didn't know they existed. The computation and the consequent movement are so perfect, that the ball doesn't even TREMBLE! It is handled perfectly. Now imagine this precision with industrial-grade quality. Apart from the motors, it requires a good set of mathematical equations, and potentially if necessary - some error correction due to tolerances. The last can be easily done with regular data feedback loops. However, I wonder how it works... one article explained about using triangles. One can see, that machine vision is not used, as the slow-motion videos show how the handling platform tosses the ball, and then already goes to the end position to wait.... This can be used in multiple tendon-based robots in manufacturing, for sorting, industry, and tens more! #robotics #softwareengineering #embeddedsystems

The CableEndy is a #robot that uses a cable-driven #mechanism to manipulate and stabilize an object at its center. To show off its mechanical prowess, its makers at B&R Industrial Automation and Brno University of Technology created this demonstration that shows how it can toss and catch a tennis ball with amazing precision. This juggling version of robot was created for international engineering fair 2017 in Brno (MSV 2017) as an eye-catcher. #robotics #entertainment #industrialAutomation #industrialRobot #engineering #creativity

Sales Development Manager at Path Robotics | Leveraging the Power of Data & AI to Transform Sales Effectiveness | Closing 6-Figure Deals | New Business Development for Startups
LeMar Industries needed a solution to fill their labor gap and increase production. When traditional automation couldn't compensate for their part size and variability, they found a perfect solution with Path Robotics. We are helping them increase throughput while retaining the highest quality welds needed for their structural components. Path Robotics + LeMar Industries #robotics #awsd1.1 #weldingautomation #partnership
We’re continuing our mission to rebuild American manufacturing with LeMar Industries “The great thing about Path is the partnership that we have. They've been very flexible on ‘Hey we need to change how we weld this part, or we need a single pass now or a triple pass, or we need to change the size of the weld’ and it's a quick response, and we're doing it in the next hour.” - Nicholas Kiederlen, MBA, Plant Manager Watch LeMar Industries’ testimonial below! #FABTECH2023 #robotics #automation #welding #usmanfacturing https://lnkd.in/gzyHgFFS

ICRA 2021 Plenary Panel: Synergies between Automation and Robotics The 2021 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation May 30 to June 5, 2021, Hybrid Conference Xi'an ChinaIn the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, robotics and automation have always been siblings. They are similar in many ways and have substantial overlap in topics and research communities, but there are also differences -- many RAS members view them as disjoint and consider themselves purely in robotics or purely in automation. Our goal is to reconsider these perceptions and think about ways we can bring these communities closer. Introducing the Committee to Explore Synergies in Automation and Robotics (CESAR): Moderator: Ken Goldberg Panelist: Seth Hutchinson: RAS Perspective, 1980's to the present Maria Pia Fanti: Senior Perspective Peter B.
