Great to watch this video of Prof Jon Thomas discussing his research on scientist-entrepreneurs with Dr. David Dobson. Here's an except I found insightful and very relevant to the current debate of Open Science vs Open Innovation: "As scientists we are trained to publish research papers and share our knowledge with Society through teaching our students, through publishing papers - it's about sharing knowledge. And, yet, when you're talking about entrepreneurship, or science-based entrepreneurship, it's about protecting that knowledge. So how do you balance one set of incentives which tell you to share with another set of incentives which tell you to protect? We uncover some of the layers of that challenge to guide scientists on when to share and how to share."
