I teared up writing this. Three years ago, I went to pick up my mom from Lyon, France. The minute I hugged her, I felt something was wrong. She said she hadn't been feeling well for the past 12 hours. I asked her about her symptoms and started typing into my phone. She had all the symptoms of a heart attack. I was fortunate to have a friend beside me who helped translate and secure medical help in under 5 minutes. Within just 15 minutes, my mom was hospitalized, and soon after diagnosed with a heart attack. Many people may not have to live through her experience. Here is a quick summary: 𝟭) 𝗔𝗜 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The AI model from Caristo Diagnostics identifies heart inflammation invisible on standard CT scans, predicting heart attack risk within 10 years. 𝟮) 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: A pilot project in five UK hospitals, supported by NHS England, may lead to nationwide adoption soon. 𝟯) 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: The Orfan study of 40,000 patients revealed a 20 to 30 times higher risk of fatal cardiac events for those with coronary inflammation, with the AI prompting preventive measures for nearly half. 𝟰) 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The AI enables early detection and personalized treatment, potentially reducing heart attack rates by intervening before the disease develops fully. 𝟱) 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹: The technology is under review by health authorities worldwide, with approvals already granted in Europe and Australia. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #HealthcareInnovation #HeartHealth

AI used to detect heart attack before we normally would detect it: "Now, with this kind of [AI] technology, we know exactly which patient has the disease activity in their arteries before the disease has even developed. "This means we can move early to end the disease process and treat this patient to prevent the disease from developing and then prevent heart attacks from happening." #AI #Healthcare #Heart
