Meet Margot Cox, Supervisor of Compensation here at Murphy USA! Since starting her Murphy USA journey as a District Manager in coastal South Carolina in 2017, Margot has gained a wealth of Field and Operations knowledge that she now brings to the Total Rewards team as Field Compensation Supervisor. During her time as a District Manager, Margot was given the opportunity to partner with the Human Resources department on a special project as a Field representative. It was there that she discovered her passion for Field compensation. She is proud of the transition she made to her current role in the Home Office, as it helped her grow her confidence and step out of her comfort zone. #WeAreMurphyUSA #MurphyUSA #BigHearted

My name is Margot Cox. I work in Total Rewards as the Field Compensation supervisor and I have been with Murphy USA since 2017. Our team is responsible for managing all things field compensation and that can range from pay scales to salary ranges to sourcing market data. We also manage our field compensation programs such as commissions and monitor state and federal minimum wage guidelines for compliance. I started at Murphy USA in 2017 as a district. Manager in Coastal South Carolina. About five years later, I transitioned into my current role with Total Rewards and I was really excited to bring my operations knowledge to this role and really start impacting our field employees on the enterprise level. An intangible benefit of working at Murphy USA that means a lot to me is our culture. It feels like family because from day one everyone is so welcoming and excited to have you on board and that never changes throughout your career. The accomplishment that I'm most proud of. Working at Murphy USA was my transition to this role in total rewards. At first I was worried it would be out of my comfort zone, but I'm so grateful to all of the leaders that took an investment in my career and really pushed me to grow. It gave me the confidence that I needed to stretch myself and really go for it. The pillar that resonates the most with me is Big Hearted. I am honored to be on the board of our Murphy Employee Disaster Relief Foundation. Our foundation is funded by our employees, for our employees and I'm able to see. First hand the good that we do for our employees and their families every single day and I'm humbled to be a part of it. My advice to any employee at Murphy USA wanting to grow their career is to be open to learning something new, be curious and ask questions even when it feels uncomfortable. Were it not for taking part in a project with HR a few years ago as their field representative and may not have found this passion for field compensation which has led me to where I am today.
