It is due when a Muslims wealth reaches the nisab (threshold) amount. It is paid annually on their Zakat anniversary. Muslims are required to pay 2.5% from their Zakatable wealth. 🤲Zakat al-Fitr is given by the head of the household for each member of the family, before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. *Donation to Shri Ram Mandir* Section 80G allows donors, regardless of their residential status, to claim deductions for contributions made to specified funds, institutions, associations, etc. The Central Government has notified Shri Ram Trust as a place of historic importance and a place of renowned public worship for the purpose of Section 80G(2)(b) w.e.f. FY 2020-21. Hence, the donations made to renovate or repair the temple are eligible for deduction. Point to be kept in mind - 1. As per section 80G, 50% of the amount donated for renovation/repair of the Mandir to Shri Ram Trust is eligible for deduction under Section 80G. 2. If the total amount donated to Shri Ram Trust exceeds 10% of your adjusted gross total income (GTI), any excess amount beyond the 10% limit will not be eligible for deduction. 3. Brother cash donations exceeding Rs. 2,000 nor any donations made in kind are not eligible for deduction under this provision. 4. The countdown and preparation in many house holds are well underway. As Muslims around the world get ready for Ramadan, most if not almost all calculate their zakat to pay it during Ramadan when charity is encouraged. Charitable giving is a mandatory pillar of faith (one of 5 pillars). Eligible Muslims (age and wealth criteria apply) needs to pay a portion of their wealth to charity. More then the market cap of Apple (3 trillion) is given away each year by Muslims to charitable causes. This year, I am focusing building water wells to provide sanitation in a very poor area of Bangladesh. In line with UN Sustainable development goal 6, if you would like to donate a water well to a person who does not have access to a water then its £150. The location of the Well will be pined into Google maps, a video of the well and the family you are helping will be sent back and a message of your choice can be written into the floor of the Well plate. The plan is to start small, only Bill Gates is Bill Gates, but if everyone can just solve 1 problem we will move forward.
