As we head into the weekend, here is some advice I wish I could have given to my younger self…👇   Spend more time outside. Time in nature helps to clear the mind, reduce stress, and increase energy.

I often think the most clearly when I’m outside. And as a proponent of meditation, I find that spending time in nature — particularly in the sun — is grounding, mood boosting, and has a host of mental health benefits.
In our fast-paced world, it can be hard to make time for the simple things like going on a walk, reading a book outside, or watching the sunset. But the payoff is invaluable.

I hope this serves as a reminder to make a conscious effort to spend more time appreciating our natural surroundings this summer. What’s your favorite way to spend time outside?

Would you have excelled at the IIM entrance and smashed through what people called “impossible”, if your younger self did spend more time outside? My younger self does the “eye roll” each time I try to pull one of these gyaani senti one-liners at him. At least your younger self is more mature and kinder than mine is. Coz I drove my younger self into the ground to do what, people’s older selves told my younger self, was needed for my older self to “achieve things” in life. Ah, the joy of not having to meet my younger self… just saying.

Nothing beats a morning run outside to create clarity and mental space to tackle the day’s challenges.

Agreed. It’s one of my first tips when someone is stressed or having a difficult moment—step outside and breathe.

Thoroughly agree! Have been re-energizing myself and listening to the waves crashing and the sounds around me. It is easy to keep working- and feels difficult sometimes to step outside - it is important to carve out time for oneself. You can feel the stress melt away.

Strongly agree. It took me quite sometime to be disciplined in my morning routine but now i ensure to spend 5 mornings outside in a week. And since then I see significant positive changes in my energy levels.

Spot on Raja! I can’t agree with this more. Nature heals. I love to walk at Stone Barns on the weekend and see how the farm changes through seasons. Great post! ❤️🧡🌳

Totally, Raja. Clears the mind for great ideas to suddenly appear, too.

Thought-provoking & yes, trying hard to follow this through
