Making first contact with HCPs is usually a daunting task I remember when I was starting a new role as an MSL in a new therapy area. Was given a target list with names, emails and phone numbers to reach out First week, I cold called the Office Managers and most went to voicemail. I left a message and never got a response back. The few who answered were probably busy to listen to me and requested I send a mail. I figured out immediately this wasn’t working. Now I mapped out the physical locations of these clinics and went there without an appointment. I must say the results were quite different The reception was quite different and I started getting appointments lined up, and my emails answered. First face-to-face meetings really make a difference when starting off in a new territory, and I personally believe that hiring managers should he looking out for candidates who have a plan that works, rather than looking for “ready-made” contacts. How do you manage new HCPs or TAs? #MSLlife #MSL #MedAffairs

Proudly disabled strategic leader | Clinician-researcher & consumer rep. Passionate about the inclusion of disabled people in healthcare and research for the benefit of everyone.
👀 Collaborators, convenors, people-people - I'm hiring! Keep an eye out, tap your people on the shoulder...I'll be formally advertising two roles in coming weeks, with more roles mid-year. 👯 25 years into our mission to transform the health and well-being of our community, at Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) (Australia's largest regional medical research institute!), we're investing in our Consumer and Community Involvement platform. I need, soon, to join our team: ⭐ a people-person superstar who loves dashboards almost as much as they love science, to lead the ongoing development of our 18-years strong Research Register. You don't need to be a scientist, but it will help if you're kinda fascinated by it! If you're someone who has participated in research studies before and you'd *so* love to get in and improve the way we communicate with people about research, streamline processes and improve access - we would LOVE to hear from you. Our vision is that it will be incredibly easy for everyone in the Hunter and New England Regions to find and participate in health and medical research that is relevant and important to them. Lofty visions? Absolutely! (0.8 FTE) 🚣♀️ HMRI's next Consumer Involvement Lead. You will either: - have a proven track-record that shows you're already a excellent strategist, advisor and connecter of researchers and people with lived experience of the conditions and systems being researched, or - be a legend with transferable skills in participatory ways of working with all sorts of communities, be really eager to learn and be mentored by Janelle Bowden, Carol Duncan, me and others among our 1800 strong team of research affiliates. (0.6 FTE) We value respect, reciprocity, integrity, transparency and justice, and consumer leadership in our team. We're taking engagement further. Who wants to join us?! (Sometimes we even get to work with Emmalee Ford LOUIS NDAGIJIMANA and Brenda Booth!) #PatientInvolvement #ConsumerLeadership #ConsumerInvolvement #MedicalResearch #Wellbeing #ParticipatoryResearch #CoDesign #PatientsIncluded #leadership
