How I got my first high paying job on LinkedIn... Everyone on LinkedIn has one dream and that's getting a job with a good pay. Initially, I didn't know an app like LinkedIn existed until someone told me about it. He said LinkedIn was an app I needed as a fresh graduate. I had just completed my content writing course so I hopped on LinkedIn looking for opportunities. I found one. I came across a post where someone was ready to hire content writers. According to the post, it was non-paid but writers would be offered a certificate after completing our 3 months internship. I was more interested in the certificate so I applied. I had a virtual interview and signed some documents,I was excited. I put in my best in that internship because I needed the experience. Two weeks into completing the internship, I came online on Whatsapp and realized we've all be removed from the group chat. she said she regrets to announce to us that our services will no longer be needed. apparently,she was too busy for the brand she wanted to build with us. All those effort just went down the drain I was so unhappy that I uninstalled my LinkedIn app. I installed it back and realized what I did wrong which was; 1️⃣Not trying to understand the app or building my brand before applying for jobs. moral lesson👇 ✅ while our main aim is to get a high paying job, let's beware of the kind of jobs we subscribe to. some people are energy drainers who are out to drain you. Previously, I encountered some difficulties when building a resume without any real work experience. Fortunately! Some experience can be used to demonstrate skills for a job application. With that in mind, I thought these should be useful: • Courses Gain a hard skill and certificate at the same time. • Organizational experience Highlight responsibilities and accomplishments. • Freelance/Part-time/Internship Earn experience as a portfolio for growth later on. • Volunteer Develop networking and collaborative skills. • Writing and Public Speaking I guess these should be developed as well to elaborate on the experience better. Again, this writing is intended for people with the same concern. Any other thoughts? Thanks!

My first internship in HR was not as exciting as it should be. All co-workers seemed to be very friendly and cooperative. But, by the passing days, I realized how stupid I was!!! You guys might not agree with me, but here's my simple realization: In corporates, every other person is busy oiling their superiors. Backstabbing is very normal to beat your fellow worker. Showing off is another opportunity to get up the hierarchy. Yes, I mean it. No matter how dedicated you are, people are always ready to blame you for all the wrongdoings. How miserable can a work culture be!!! You have to kill your self-esteem completely. And last but not least, there's no private life at all, not even on weekends. As a result, I pulled myself out of typical corporate life. I was completely distressed. I couldn't not make mind what to do! This is the time, I accidentally came to know about Web Content Writing. I researched a lot, got to know about the basics of SEO writing, started working as a ghost writer and got paid a little penny. What mattered to me was that I was on the verge of enjoying my life again. There's no peer pressure, no politics, nothing! I realized that from now on, I will rule on my terms. It is always about how to either grow in your career or how to choose a career.... I mentioned a few points but realized that there were still some more points I needed to add.... Internships - Participating in internships actually offer you a safe spot to learn more about your desired niche or industry where you would like to build a career as you are not under much pressure to achieve targets 12. Freelancing - If you are interested in building a career in e.g. Copywriting, graphics design, e.t.c, and do not know where to get customers aside from LinkedIn, you could offer your services on freelance platforms like Upwork or attend events where you are given room to showcase your skills.... 13. Learn Other languages - Now, I have seen job descriptions which state that they require people who speak some certain languages, you do not have to pressure yourself about it, but it will really expand your options when it comes to getting jobs and also networking with people and or getting clients.... 14. Take Online Courses on your desired niche 15. Participate in industry specific competitions 16. Practice public speaking 17. List your strengths and weaknesses (SWOT analysis) 18. Take personality tests - These tests are multiple choice questions (objective questions) that are based on specific activities or actions you perform or decisions you make in some situations that actually reveal the skills you have e.g. problem solving skills, analytical skills, interpersonal relationship skills, e.t.c, and the kinds of industries you would be a great fit for....
