Nantucket Cottage Hospital values the compassion and dedication of our caregivers, and now it's time to honor them through the Seinfeld/Hartmann Prize. This prestigious award pays tribute to those who demonstrate an outstanding level of compassion in their role, whether they're a physician, nurse, or part of our staff. Nominations for the Seinfeld/Hartmann Prize are now open. The winner will be awarded a cash prize at our annual meeting in August. Pictured L-R: Judy Seinfeld, wife of the late Robert H. Seinfeld, MD; Marissa Teramae, last year's winner; and Jason Graziaidei, community liaison for Seinfeld/Hartmann Prize. I love is work. This interview is the truth. I am ok with working from a place of truth. Additionally, the corporatization of healthcare is suffocating individualized patient care. While we focus on clinical practices, we're overlooking a critical factor: the business arm of the healthcare system wields immense, often underestimated influence over patient experiences. Their decisions on staffing ratios make personalized care nearly impossible. Their budget allocations dictate precious minutes spent with each patient. In essence, boardroom choices are silently shaping bedside realities, transforming care from a human-centered practice into a race against the clock. Until we confront these systemic issues, the promise of truly individualized healthcare will remain frustratingly out of reach.
Care demands visibility. To properly care for a patient is to personalize care to who they are — even the parts that people “don’t see.” Meet Dr. Ernest J. Grant, whose nursing career spans 30 years. He knows that providing effective and equitable care means seeing and understanding the cultural nuances and histories of each patient, and to not see any part of a person prevents that. What a story! One that we need to share broadly! The Ensign Pennant partnership! We are cut from the same cloth. Parellel core values, both organizations together on a mission to improve the care continuum. To provide life changing service in the post acute space. Our skilled nursing partners hosted some of us this week where we openly talked about what we need to do in order to improve our care across our organizations. Main takeaways- these are true partners, we need to embrace the EPCC partnership and treat them like cluster partners. Learn their buisness, meet often, share best practices, assist with opportunities and collaborate on new and innovative ideas on how to improve our care continuums, but most of all….tell the story. We have had significant growth in both Skilled nursing and HH Hospice we need to ensure our new employees know this relationship! So….tell the story!
