💖 Join me in celebrating National Women's Health Week! 🩺 As the local Go Red for Women Director with the American Heart Association, every day I think about the importance of women's health. Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. While it kills more women than all forms of cancer combined, only 44% of women recognize that cardiovascular disease is their greatest health threat The theme of #NationalWomensHealthWeek this year is "Empowering Women, Cultivating Health: Celebrating Voices, Wellness, and Resilience." The simple truth is- most cardiac and stroke events can be prevented through education and lifestyle changes, such as moving more, eating smart, and managing blood pressure. We know that women face unique health issues at every age and stage of their lives and education is critical to empowering women to be their own health advocates. I'm proud to share this video of a handful of incredible survivors and voices for women's heart health. Two really powerful lines in this video continue to stick with me: 💬 "As I got older, I made the decision to put my health first so I could be there for all of my son's special firsts" 💬 "I've made it this far, and I still have so much more I want to experience in life. That's why as I age and change, so do the ways I care for my heart health." When we come together and empower each other, women are unstoppable. Self-care is NOT selfish! Join me in spreading awareness and support for women's health this week and beyond. Together, we can make a difference! #NationalWomensHealthWeek #WomenEmpowerment #HealthEquity 🌺💪🏽🩺 https://lnkd.in/erJ3Fr_s

Presenter & TEDx Speaker | Author | Professor | Board Member | Future of Work Specialist | Marketing Leader | Women Empowerment Activist | Helping professionals & organisations build impactful brands
Women’s health is a topic that is very much under-discussed and even a source of stress and taboo (why? It affects 50 percent of the population). That’s why I’m always happy to partner and promote new initiatives that try to make change in this area. Blissmi is one that’s trying to do just that, and they’ve just launched a new survey to offer addditional insight into women’s health experiences at various life stages. If you have a minute, think about contributing to their first advocacy report - the more information we can gather about the challenges women face when it comes to their health (both mental and physical) and both personally and professionally, the faster we can start to impact meaningful change. Take the survey below ⬇️ 👇 it takes 5 minutes! Cc: Inès Gafsi #womenshealth #womenempowerment #mentalhealth
We're building Blissmi, a platform personalizing women's health journeys, and to make it even better, we need your voice! 📢 We're launching our first advocacy report that will feature the perspectives of 100 women at various life stages within corporate environments. We aim to gather their insights on existing health equity and company policies, identify areas for improvement, and explore their hopes for the future.
