There is a common misconception that in India there are a lot of holidays, because we celebrate so many festivals. It may be true in PSUs, but in private sector we get only 10-11 days which is roughly the same as most countries. The holidays are spread over, so it makes it difficult to take long breaks without using your vacation days. India is the only country where we have public holidays for Christmas, Eid, Diwali, and Parsee new year. How many holidays you get at your work place, and which country you work in?
