On Veteran’s Day, we thank all those who have served our Country. Here are 8 Ways to Say 'Thank You Veterans' on Veterans Day 🇺🇸 1. Say "Thank You Veterans" by Showing Up – find and attend your local Veterans Day parade 2. Donate to Veteran-Focused Charities – Check out Wounded Warrior, Operation Second Chance, Freedom Service Dogs of America 3. Fly a Flag – Correctly. Checkout miliary.com to learn the proper rules for displaying the American Flag 4. Ask Someone About Their Service. Chances are, they will want to share with you. 5. Write a letter to say "thank you veterans". Visit the Soldiers of Angels website to learn more 6. Don't Confuse Veterans Day with Memorial Day. Veterans Day is a time to thank those who are serving or have served and are still with us. Memorial Day is to reflect and remember those who lost their lives in service to their country. Confusing the two or combining the two diminishes the importance of both. 7. Visit a VA Hospital - Many VA facilities will have events on Veterans Day or a special lunch you can help prepare. 8. Get Outdoors with a Veteran - Invite a veteran or a military family to explore a national park; admission is free for all visitors on Veterans Day. Being outside helps improve physical and mental health, boosts emotional well-being and is a great way to celebrate the day with a veteran. ❤️🤍💙 #childfamilycenter #veteransmentalhealth #veteransday

Slow down for a minute. Contemplate the enormous blessings we all have and the role freedom plays in our lives. It’s hard to comprehend living in a country that oppresses its people and stifles creativity, dreams and promise of a fulfilling life. Thank you to those who’ve won our freedom and to those who help preserve it. Paul Jankowski Veterans Day is only 25 days away. 8 Ways to Say 'Thank You Veterans' on Veterans Day… 1. This weekend, we’re going to race across more than 200 miles through 15 towns on Cape Cod with up to 20-pounds on our backs… Sure, it SUCKS, but do you know what SUCKS even more? It SUCKS to lose someone you love because there were no programs or services available for veterans, who suffered silently after active duty. According to recent surveys, almost 44 veterans kill themselves each day – and that’s 44 veterans a day way too many. The unintended consequences cut deep, reach far and last forever. No one should ever have to experience it, but, unfortunately, many do. How can we help? We can support AMAZING organizations, like HEROES IN TRANSITION INC , that offer unique programs and services to build stronger relationships and better communities for veterans, active service members and their families. ***So, you may be thinking… If it SUCKS, then why do we do it? Simple. WE DO IT – and will continue to do it – FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T.*** Please consider supporting the cause. #HeroesInTransition #Ruck4HIT #4ThoseWhoCant https://lnkd.in/eUr-hxWc

This weekend I saw a lot businesses posting "Happy Memorial Day!" content. "Come out to Rudy's Bar and celebrate the long holiday weekend with us, we're selling $5 orange crushes all day long!" Memorial Day is to remember the hundreds of thousands of military members who gave the ultimate sacrifice and never came home to their families. Asking people to come to your restaurant to "celebrate the holiday" feels really wrong for Memorial Day. Are we forgetting what it's really about? Here are a few ways you can post on social or email your customers about Memorial Day that honors the military members and their families: 1. Share a link to an organization that helps families of fallen soldiers asking for donations, like the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation 2. Donate 10% of your proceeds on Memorial Day to a reputable organization like the Wounded Warrior Project 3. Highlight a veteran who works at your company and thank them for their service 4. Offer a 20% discount to all active military members to thank them for their service 5. Be like Born Primitive (pictured below) and don't ask anything of your customers, simply post about Memorial Day in a way that honors the fallen. They also shared a really great video on their Instagram and Facebook pages to remind everyone of the true meaning of Memorial Day. Please take a moment to watch it, I'll link it in the comments. #MemorialDay #Military #HonorTheFallen

From Andy Johns "The special operations community — such as navy seals — receives a lot of publicity and support, and an outsized share of media and Hollywood attention for their heroics relative to the rest of the rank-and-file “Grunts” that make up our armed forces. Yet our special operations service members aren’t the only ones who make a large personal sacrifice via their service. Many non-special operations veterans have suffered greatly as well. They also deserve to be recognized for their service, and supported when they need help. Yet the vast majority of non-profit capital and services to support veterans goes to a minority of our special operations divisions. My friend Pat Gault makes this argument clearly and respectfully in this piece he wrote, which you can find on Fortune. As a special ops veteran himself, and a highly respected voice in the veteran community, his message carries a lot of weight. And it’s one of the reasons why I’m proud to serve on the board of Heroic Hearts Project — because we provide care to veterans regardless of rank or division. It was through Heroic Hearts where Pat and I first met. For those interested in supporting our veterans, please take 10 minutes to give this a read." Discover our mission, donate to our research, sponsor a veteran(s), or become a volunteer/ambassador for The Heroic Hearts Project, a non-profit connecting struggling veterans to ayahuasca and other psychedelic therapy options in countries where they are legal to heal their mental traumas from war. #mentalhealth, #veterans #specialforces #specialoperations #ptsdrecovery, #suicideprevention #plantmedicine #psychedelicassistedtherapy #indigenoushealingtraditions #sacredmedicine #ayahuasca #ketamineassistedtherapy #psilocybin #ibogaine #neuroplasticity #neurogenesis #heroicheartsproject #heroicheartsuk https://lnkd.in/ghmJf_dk

If Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales can last more than a week, why not extend Giving Tuesday an extra day or two? 🌟 While I'd love for you to make a donation to the foundation I started earlier this year (https://more4veterans.org), let's talk about the profound difference that charitable donations can make and why supporting any cause that's close to your heart is not just an act of generosity but a transformative experience. 🌈 Create Lasting Change: Charitable donations empower organizations to make a lasting impact on the issues we care deeply about. Whether it's education, healthcare, environmental conservation, or social justice, your contribution becomes a catalyst for positive change. 🤝 Strength in Unity: Individually, we may feel small in the face of global challenges. However, when we unite through charitable giving, we amplify our collective strength. Together, we can address societal issues and foster a sense of shared responsibility for the well-being of our global community. 🧡 Fulfilling a Personal Mission: Supporting a cause you believe in allows you to align your actions with your values. It's an opportunity to actively contribute to shaping the kind of world you want to live in, leaving a meaningful legacy for future generations. 🔄 Create a Ripple Effect: Charitable giving has a ripple effect that extends far beyond the initial donation. It inspires others to join the cause, creating a chain reaction of kindness and compassion. Your generosity can spark a movement that brings about positive, systemic change. 📈 Investing in a Better Future: Think of your charitable donation as an investment in a better future. Whether it's funding education programs, medical research, or environmental initiatives, you're sowing the seeds for a more sustainable and compassionate world. 💖 Experience the Joy of Giving: The act of giving is a source of unparalleled joy and fulfillment. Knowing that your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a difference is a powerful motivator. It fosters a sense of connection with a broader community of like-minded individuals who share your commitment to making the world a better place. Let's harness the power of giving and create a world where compassion, empathy, and positive change reign supreme. 🌍💙 Have you recently supported a cause that holds a special place in your heart? Share your experiences and inspire others to join the movement! #GivingBack #Charity #MakeADifference #GivingTuesday

As an award-winning ethical bank, our lending helps organisations to grow and make a positive difference to their communities. We work with organisations that deliver social impact.
A simple but powerful symbol of #remembrance, here is the back story to why the #poppyappeal a relative quick but interesting read.
Since its emergence as a symbol of Remembrance after the First World War, poppies have taken on various shapes and sizes. From handmade silk and cotton poppies to wartime poppies, 2023 sees the biggest change in the poppy’s design for a generation. Made entirely from paper, the new plastic-free poppy is available alongside stock of the existing poppy to reduce waste, and can be recycled in ordinary paper recycling collections. As we approach Remembrance Sunday, please wear a poppy to show the Armed Forces community you care, and help us raise vital funds to support Serving personnel, veterans, and their families all year round.
