Our latest collaborative research with Cleveland Clinic, Stanford University, and Henri Mondor University Hospital on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) was published by the Journal of Pathology Informatics. Our team of data scientists developed a deep learning model to predict recurrence-free survival and disease-specific survival from H&E slides from HCC patients. Combining the predictions from this model with those obtained from statistical analysis of clinical data better predicted post-surgical outcomes. Integration of additional data modalities may further optimize the efficacy of this model and help realize a more personalized approach to HCC surveillance after surgery. Owkin is pioneering the use of multimodal patient data to increase the number of patients who will benefit from precision medicine.
