The launch of the largest deployment of Dynamic Line Ratings in the US is indeed a significant milestone for grid-enhancing technology. LineVision's efforts to unlock additional capacity on existing transmission lines are crucial for accelerating the energy transition. By increasing the capacity, resilience, and safety of the electricity grid, we can support the integration of more renewable energy sources. How do you see this technology shaping the future of grid management and renewable energy integration on a global scale?

Jason. Everywhere but here in Alberta, why? The AESO Board was approached in 2015 about DLR recognising congestion was on the horizon. Still nothing to date. Another example, The AESO uses static summer line limit ratings from May until October set at 0 wind and 31C, how much of the growing congestion is due to inherently incorrect assumptions like that? It is 11C outside right now and there is 1900 MW of wind, is there any congestion caused by these static limits? There is a simple fix that would increase transmission utilisation and enhance economic efficiency. Why aren’t the Alberta TFO’s clamouring for this? Perhaps because they are regulated utilities that get paid either way so why rock the boat?

I've said this before, but in my 30 years in the energy industry, LineVision's technology is the closest I've seen to magic. With very little cost and very little investment of time, #utilities can boost the amount of energy going through their transmission networks by up to 30 percent. Utilities should be doing this right now!

Congratulations! DLR provides excellent real-time data to making informed infrastructure investments, saving rate payers from potentially unnecessary upgrades.

It is interesting to operate transmission lines on dynamic rating instead of static capacity. However, it further requires infra upgrade, as power flow on transmission line increases above it's static capacity being used, it also increases the short circuit current rating which need upgradation of protection equipment.

I'm so glad to see that DLR is being fully implemented at National Grid. Once again NG is leading other utilities by example. Hopefully the others follow suit!

This continues to be an exciting journey to follow. I would love to see a little more real-life example for Jane and Joe to have this relate to them. Great work LineVision, National Grid Partners, and National Grid for this amazing partnership.
