Did you know that RNA can fold into different shapes? There are many different types of RNA, including Transfer RNAs (or tRNAs for short), that fold into different shapes to help them function and be stable! tRNAs are folded into a distinct L-shape that allows them carry out their key role in protein synthesis. Learn more about tRNA and its shape by creating your own paper model of it! Check out our instructions and printable paper for folding here: https://lnkd.in/emRhucQ8
Eric Green, M.D., Ph.D. Wonderful to see you educating the community and the country. There’s an immense investment underway in the development and implementation of RNA therapeutics. I am not yet on that bandwagon. Can you please share the details of how the public sector came to subsidize the enormous interest in this research?
Thank you for the post and educational resource. Feynman famously said “What I cannot create, I do not understand”. Creating the paper model of transfer RNA or any other biomolecule make it easier to understand its structure and function.
Love it!!! These structures were important during my MS Biology (Plant Genetics) program.
Good to know!🤍
I love this creative approach!

3wHere's a fun story about how that 2D structure was solved: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/briankruegerphd_figurefriday-activity-7207367536793796608-vgUY/
