Understanding the basics of what belongs in a standard obstetrical ultrasound exam set forth by American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) is vital to giving patients and their babies the best care possible. I recently presented the standard obstetrical ultrasound exam to new sonographers entering the field. Better trained fetal sonographers lead to healthier moms and healthier babies! #sonographystudents #ultrasoundstudents #obgynultrasound
Marybeth Tomory , Truly a fantastic presentation. Thank you for all that you do for the sonography community 🤗

Was just reading the foreword by Doug Tallamy...WOW! Here's a small sample... “Every once in a while, a book comes along that meets an important need most people don’t know they have. Sarah Jayne’s Nature’s Action Guide is such a book. Sarah could have called her book Conservation for Dummies—not that she wrote it for true dummies, but because she has identified a subject everyone needs to know but almost no one was ever taught: how to share our spaces with the natural world.” … “Sarah wrote Nature’s Action Guide as a complement to my book Nature’s Best Hope. My last chapter suggested 10 things homeowners could/should do to help share their property with nature. After reading my book, Sarah set about trying to enact each of these suggestions in her own yard but quickly realized that, even as an experienced gardener, she didn’t know enough to be successful. And if she didn’t know enough, many other budding conservationists were likely to struggle as well. Sarah’s solution was to write Nature’s Action Guide, a step-by-step, easy to use manual that explains how each of us, regardless of our background or gardening experience, can accomplish all of the goals I propose in Nature’s Best Hope, as well as several I only hinted at! Restoration biology is a relatively young scientific discipline a few decades old. Practicing restoration in human-dominated landscapes, in comparison, is in its infancy and we are still learning what works and what doesn’t work. One of its many distinguishing features is that Nature’s Action Guide is current, explaining state-of-the-art conservation in suburbia with the most up-to-date best-practices available. Even a half-hearted attempt to follow Sarah’s action items is guaranteed to improve the biodiversity potential of your landscape and thus the productivity of your local ecosystem. For this, we all owe Sarah Jayne our heartfelt thanks and gratitude—because, whether we appreciate it or not, we all depend on those same ecosystems.” Douglas W. Tallamy
I'm excited to say that Nature's Action Guide is finally published! Thank you to everyone who has helped make it a reality!

I am embarrassed to say that I have been guilty of this. Ugh, that hurt to say out loud. In a world where things change rapidly due to technological advances and now A.I. We must adapt and challenge ourselves to stay current. How do you do that? Here are my top two strategies: 📖 READ. (Every day). Read newsletters, industry magazines, blogs, etc. 🌐 Attend conferences and seminars. There are also low cost options at your local chamber of commerce. Every successful business owner and leader need to have a thirst for knowledge. You must be intentional about seeking new ways of doing things. I suggest that every quarter you spend a few hours reviewing your systems and processes and asking yourself and your team tough questions about if your way is still serving you. Be curious, be humble and growth minded. Have a great day!

Thanks Tima. I agree with your observations. However, as unpopular or disliked as it is, the human development movement maintains that this growing global polarisation is necessary for us to emerge on the other side with true understanding, empathy and compassion. This compassion and empathy that is currently rare, is not a body of cognitive knowledge to be learned. It is a stage of human awakening and development which only occurs when the human being is ready. And every human on the planet is on their own individual journey. The vast majority of the world is at amber- orange stage, with the leading edge being green touching teal). There are a few individuals beyond teal). It is only at teal, do we begin to transcend and include (universal acceptance). We started at red (prehistoric man - Ghangis Kahn). Make no mistake, I am not sharing this in order to promote under-responsibility- as in “well it’s necessary, and beyond our control”. But 12 years of intense self enquiry and standing on the shoulders of giants of the movement enables some of us to see this from a global perspective, from a universal perspective. It’s this perspective that is necessary for us to understand and accept the views and perspectives of others. And without this universal acceptance, we as a race are going around in circles, "tit for tat". We may not have to forget, but we must forgive, in order to go forward.
Today, I had a moment that truly made me reflect on the state of the world and the condition of our hearts. As I stood in line at a busy coffee shop, I observed two women who had just ordered their coffee. They were visibly upset about the wait time, which wasn’t long at all - about 10 minutes. Their frustration and complaints filled the air and it struck me deeply. Here I was, standing in line for my almond latte, a small luxury in the grand scheme of things. Yet, on the other side of the world, people are living in war zones, facing deliberate starvation, humiliation, being killed mercilessly and enduring unimaginable oppression. The reality of this is overwhelming and made me question our own humanity. 💓 Are the atrocities happening in the world a reflection of the condition of our hearts as a collective human race? 💓 Have we become so consumed by our own trivial inconveniences that we fail to see the broader suffering and injustice around us? Our unconscious behaviors often lead us to ungratefulness, blinding us to the privileges we enjoy. This isn’t just about waiting in line for coffee, it’s about our capacity for empathy and compassion - or the lack thereof. In moments like these, I find myself deeply reflecting on how we, as individuals and as a society, can ensure that our actions, no matter how small, contribute to a better world. We are living in a Godless society, and I truly believe that if God were at the center of our hearts, these atrocities would not be happening. Our collective consciousness and actions have a powerful ripple effect. Thank you for taking the time to reflect with me.

Ladies and gentlemen, In the vast tapestry of existence, one thread binds us all – our shared humanity. It is this very essence that we must celebrate and harness to shape a world that resonates with compassion, empathy, and kindness. Humanity is not just a collective noun; it is a force, a potential that resides within each of us. It's the ability to understand, to connect, and to uplift. In a world often dominated by the tumultuous waves of change, our humane nature becomes the anchor that steadies the ship. The power of humane nature lies in its transformative ability. When we approach one another with empathy, we bridge gaps, dismantle barriers, and foster understanding. It is through acts of compassion that we cultivate a sense of unity, recognizing that, regardless of our differences, we all share the same fundamental aspirations for happiness, peace, and prosperity. Consider the impact of a single act of kindness. It ripples through the fabric of society, inspiring others to pay it forward. This interconnected web of empathy has the potential to mend the fractures in our world, healing wounds and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. Our humanity is the compass that guides us toward justice, equality, and collective well-being. It propels us to confront challenges with resilience and seek solutions that benefit the greater good. It is the driving force behind movements that challenge injustice and champion the rights of the oppressed. As we navigate the complexities of our modern era, let us not forget the profound influence of our humane nature. In times of uncertainty, it is the beacon that illuminates the path toward a better world. By nurturing our shared humanity, we cultivate a world where every individual is valued, heard, and respected. In conclusion, let us embrace the power of our humane nature. It is not a luxury but a necessity in shaping a world where compassion prevails, and the collective spirit of humanity guides us toward a brighter and more harmonious future. Thank you. 🌍☮️🏅🇮🇳
