Black Myth: Wukong became the most successful game release on Twitch in 2024! The game has captivated both gamers and streamers alike. On its release day, Black Myth: Wukong amassed over 5.5 million Hours Watched on Twitch, outpacing major titles like #GTAV, #Minecraft, and #LeagueofLegends to become the most-watched game on the platform. Additionally, the game had the most successful launch on Twitch among all new releases of 2024. In watch time, it outperformed #Palworld, #DragonsDogmaII, #WutheringWaves, and other titles. It also set a record for peak concurrent viewership among titles, reaching 485,300 concurrent viewers, the highest of any gaming release this year. Shooters and PEGI 18 games generated the most watch time on Twitch 📊 That's the statistic we at Streams Charts came to when we analyzed the genres, game mods, and age ratings of Twitch games for Q2 2024. With a small margin, shooters were ahead of genres such as Adventure, RPG, and Strategy.  Notably, shooters include two key esports titles — #CounterStrike and #Valorant — which are actively streamed on Twitch and have large fan bases. Other top Shooter games include #Fortnite and #CallofDuty. Analyzing the distribution of games by #PEGI age rating is also interesting. In the second quarter of 2024, games with a PEGI 18 rating garnered the most watch time. This category includes games with elements of violence, strong language, explicit sexual content, scenes of smoking, drug use, nudity, gambling, and more. Almost all of these elements can be found in #GTAV, the most popular game on Twitch. Additionally, many Shooter games, such as Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, and #RainbowSix, have a PEGI 18 rating. When it comes to game modes, in Q2 2024, Twitch viewers primarily watched streams of Multiplayer games, which collectively garnered over 3.1 billion HW. This category includes nearly all esports titles, making their dominance unsurprising. VTubers Q2 2024 report — industry keeps growing, new leader emerges The VTubing section of the livestreaming industry continues to grow on a regular basis, while expanding into global audiences around the world. The first quarter of 2024 saw the VTubing side of the industry grow by about 8%, in terms of total watch time, and Q2 2024 followed this up with a smaller but still significant 3.2% increase in watch time. Streams Charts, in collaboration with #VSTATSjp, a VTuber viewership analysis site, are proud to present a Q2 2024 report on the VTubing livestreaming industry. Read a full report here: https://lnkd.in/dugD8tTY Few takeaways: ✅ In total, the VTubing sector of the livestreaming industry received 415.94M Hours Watched for Q2 2024, another record-breaking quarter for #VTubers ✅ Korean livestreaming platforms enjoyed significant growth to their watch time for this quarter, with AfreecaTV more than doubling their watch time compared to Q1 2024. ✅ The ever-true axiom of the VTuber industry: VTubers are largely female creators. Female creators make up 69.5% of the top 4000 VTubers, which actually marks a slight increase compared to last quarter.  ✅ Indonesia enjoyed significant growth for the quarter, a more than 192.4% increase in watch time for the quarter and a 19.6% in channels.
