Rory Mcilroy has won 24 times on the PGA Tour! 😱 He’s one of the winningest players to ever hit a golf ball. And yet, here he is getting some pointers from putting guru Brad Faxon on the practice green after a round last week. He spent hours after his round hitting six foot putts until he figured out what wasn’t working in his game that day. You’d think after a lifetime of winning on the golf course Rory would be way better than to be practicing something as simple as short putts at the end of a long day of competitive golf. Wrong. This is what the great ones do: 1. Consistently and rigorously practice the simple but most important things. 2. Work with a mentor who can help guide the way. I was so inspired when I saw Rory practicing in this way last week. His dedication to winning shows in his work ethic and in his results. It caused me to ask myself (and I challenge you to do the same): 1. What are the simple things that I should be rigorously practicing each week? 2. This picture was taken about 2-weeks ago when I took my family rafting in Glacier National Park. (Side note: Add a visit to Glacier to your "To-Do List.) What do you see when you look at this picture? I see BIG smiles. How is that, though? These people are all in rough waters. Here's how: - They are in it together. Rowing in the same direction. - They have the right gear to survive whatever the river throws their way. - They have a Captain navigating the ship & leading the team. - They know (and trust) that there are calmer waters ahead. - They celebrate the fact that they are willing to do what others fear. Now ask yourself this: - Is your boat filled with likeminded professionals rowing together? - Do you have & are you using all of your tools? - Who's your Captain? - Are you trusting the process? - Have you allowed yourself to celebrate for making it this far?

It’s the year 2000, I’m the boy in the front holding the trophy for winning the German U14 Waterpolo championship. We went on winning three more German championships with this team and I ended my last four years in the youth bracket without a single loss. Without a doubt, this team was one of the most successful if not the most successful youth waterpolo team in the last 25 years. Here is what I have learned and keep with me as a reminder: 👉 Placing the players in the best fitting position at the best time is a key. Diversity: as you can see all genders, heights and body shapes are represented. 👉 Without a good foundation you cannot accomplish greatness Master the fundamentals: we spent hours honing in and learning the basics before practicing more advanced techniques and tactics. 👉 Accept defeat with grace and respect but come back even stronger Get back up: every loss is a win, you learn, you reflect, and you adjust your strategy and tactics. 👉 Build resilience and grit Resilience: I’ve never been physically more exhausted than I was during my waterpolo career. We practiced 3 times a week on land and in the water. 👉 Create a culture of purpose Have a purpose: at the beginning of the season the team coach and players aligned on the goal for the season: win the championship. . Teamwork is the goal, and goal is accomplished.

The idea with skijoring is that a horse pulls a skier as fast as possible about 8 blocks though town. The skier must collect rings with a small spear to score points. The time and points are added up at the end and a winner is declared. I took this photo in Leadville, CO.   Equine skijoring was at one time included as a sport in the 1928 Winter Olympic Games in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Now you can see it in Jackson Hole, WY, Aspen, CO, Leadville, CO and a few other places as well as Europe.   This fun skiing event is a team event. The skier and the person riding the horse must work together as a team to win. The skier must trust the rider and they both have to collaborate in advance and get on the same page, so to speak.   Leading teams is a big part of running a business.
