One of the great projects I get to manage.
Funded with a $5.14 million state grant, I’m glad to see this project beginning soon. Residents in the Heather Lane/Lockwood Lane area in Norwalk will finally see some relief.

All qualified organizations seeking to become adult day services providers, as well as existing adult day services providers seeking to expand their services, are eligible to apply for the available grant funds, which are being offered by the Ohio Office of Budget and Management (OBM) at the direction of ODA. Successful applicants will be eligible to spend their funding in multiple areas. New adult day services providers or those re-entering the market can use these funds for equipment, supplies, start-up fees, or infrastructure modifications required for initial operations. Existing adult day services providers can use these funds to enhance service delivery by adding new benefits not previously offered. They can also use the funds to support long-term sustainment in the industry. This could include equipment or facility upgrades to accommodate a larger capacity served, as well as technology implementation and other efficiency efforts. Providers can also use funds to recruit and retain a qualified workforce – including through means such as offering current staff a retention bonus, offering new staff a hiring bonus, hiring new direct care workers, and recruiting new direct care workers. Interested organizations can apply through the OBM website. Successful applicants will be eligible for technical assistance support, provided by LeadingAge Ohio in collaboration with ODA. For more information, visit aging.ohio.gov/adultday 😊💙❤️💜💚

Speaking from the perspective of someone directly engaged on a day-to-day basis over how to flatten the curve of skyrocketing insurance premiums in catastrophe-prone states, fortified home programs such as this one in Louisiana are vital. I highly recommend suggesting to family and friends who are in need of risk hardening for whatever reason to take advantage of this program. I guided my in-laws through Florida’s sister program earlier in 2023 to great success. An absolute coup for homeowners with roofs and opening protection in need of upgrades. You will save money on home upgrades you will have to complete at some point regardless as well as on insurance premiums. You will also have the peace of mind when the wind blows next. And rest assured, the wind will blow again.. #deftgroup #insurance #riskmanagement
The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program will open its third round of grants at noon on November 6. The 750 available grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. https://ow.ly/oLZn50Q3gkA

The USDOT recently released an update on the distribution of funding and investments to disadvantaged communities in FY 2022 and FY 2023. The Justice40 initiative aims to deliver 40% of federal investments to disadvantaged communities, and the USDOT not only met but exceeded these goals. In 2023, 55% of Justice40 benefits, and in 2022, 61% flowed to disadvantaged communities. Visit Justice40 Baselines StoryMap for more information on how these investments are helping communities address transportation burdens: https://lnkd.in/gQT-S743
