Specialized in Recruiting Executive Personal Assistants for Founders, CEO’s, C-Suite & UHNWI. Career Education Class: How to Enter, Elevate and Exit the Administrative Profession ➡️
I was filling out a form online for a driving school, and the very last question was “what is thirteen minus 6?” I am so bad in math 🙄 and I am happy it was just basic subtraction, but why was this needed in the first place? I am assuming (I know I shouldn’t) that it is to make sure I am a human, but who knows. It wouldn’t take either answer 😒 PIVOT When it comes to high level Executive Support it is important to remember that 50% of what they do cannot be screened on a standardized test, and there isn’t ever “one way” to do their job. This is one of the many reasons why a high level EPA is never “just” anything because what they do is “adJUST” to everyone they work with. #executiveassistant #executivesupport #careereducation #interviewprep

There’s a saying that if you think you’re overcommunicating something to your staff, you’re probably communicating just enough. But what are you saying? What do they hear? Message sent, does not mean message received. This is why we respond with “heard” in restaurants but what if they heard but didn’t understand. Everyone learns and understands in different ways, it’s very important to make sure you break tasks down, show an example or double check work after training. “Please take the recycling bin out back” seems like an easy task, but what if they take it out back and they don’t come back with an empty spare? The task wasn’t fully set out for them and this has now turned into a new training moment, rather than a disciplinary moment as they didn’t complete the task correctly. If someone didn’t understand a task, request, job, ect, make sure your taking a look at how you’re communicating and look at how you can change your communication style for that employee. Make sure they understand what you are trying to put out.

Building India's biggest Teaching Community | Enabling Educators to Upskill, Unlearn and Relearn | Eduprenuer Coach | Author of Art of Teaching
𝐃𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 As teachers, our days are filled with countless tasks and responsibilities. To make a real impact, it's crucial to prioritize and do the first thing first. Setting clear goals and focusing on the most important tasks allows us to create a strong foundation for our students' success. By tackling the most impactful activities first, we ensure that our efforts lead to meaningful progress and positive outcomes. This approach not only helps in managing our time effectively but also sets a positive example for our students. When they see us prioritizing and handling our responsibilities efficiently, it teaches them the value of focus and discipline. For instance, starting the day by planning our lessons, organizing materials, and setting up the classroom creates a productive environment. This preparation enables us to engage with students more effectively and address their needs promptly. Similarly, focusing on student interactions and providing timely feedback can significantly enhance their learning experience. Let’s embrace the power of prioritization and set an example for our students. When we focus on what truly matters, we can inspire our students to do the same. Feel free to share your thoughts and strategies on prioritization in the comments below! Let's learn from each other and continue to grow as educators. 🌟

Do Senior IT Pros Feel Frustrated or Fulfilled Helping Newbies? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gDXK_kRE #ITCommunity #CareerGrowth #TechSupport Hey everyone! 👋 I've been thinking a lot about the IT field lately, especially from the perspective of those starting out. When I chat with newbies or those at level 1 and 2, they often mention how much they appreciate the guidance and support from their more experienced coworkers. This got me curious about the other side of the coin! 📈 Do you folks in level 3 or senior positions find it annoying to constantly help those newer to IT? 😄 Or do you genuinely enjoy mentoring and sharing your knowledge? As someone who might fall into the level 2 or 3 category (it's hard to say since my experience has mainly been in a seasonal role at a school district), I really value the insights from both sides. While I consider myself pretty independent and reasonably skilled with cmd and regedit (though, I still rely on guides for a lot of it! 🤓), I’m getting back into IT after working in a completely different field. I’m definitely keeping an eye on level 1 and 2 positions but feel a bit hesitant about jumping too high up the...

Peak performance when it matters most. The Uvalde school shooting was an extreme example of law enforcement training incompetence for critical incidents. It was easy for activists, civilians, and other police officers to pass judgment on these officers when in fact what failed is an almost nationwide policy of PowerPoint and choreographed training to the least common denominator for critical incidents. Here is the simple science, if you want to do brave and selfless things, you need to develop a habit of doing brave and selfless things. The brain predicts what is happening to you and what you are going to do about it based on your RELEVANT past experience. Predictive circuits access explicit knowledge ( facts, policies, procedures, PowerPoint learning) and answer the question what should we do? Predictive circuits also access procedural knowledge and this assessment is about how you are going to do it and whether or not based on your RELEVANT past experience you have done anything like this under similar emotional content. If the answer is no, then the brain tends toward avoidance behavior and a convenient explanation of why you did so. Develop the habits in training in representative performance environments and you have a higher likelihood of peak performance when it matters most. You cannot learn to manage fear, ambiguity, chaos and volatility without training under these conditions, making mistakes at about a 15% error rate to drive learning, and doing that again and again…or you can watch another PowerPoint!
