🚨 CALL TO #POPULIST ACTION! 🚨 Are you in #Connecticut? Do you want to be part of history? Record yourself on video walking into any regulated #cannabis dispensary before January 1st, 2024. Make sure the recording includes a complete point of sale transaction of you buying a high-THC hemp product (say a drink or a pill for example), and that the product label shows that it was manufactured outside of Connecticut. Make sure that there's something in the video that proves you did this during 2023. Bonus points if, after the sale is complete, you ask the cashier why the transaction that just took place is recorded in a separate point of sale system, with separate record keeping apart from BioTrack. Extra bonus points if the producer of the product you purchase has a name comprised of a four-digit number. Godspeed, friends.

***MIKE TYSON GETS DESTROYED BY A LEADING CANNABIS PR FIRM*** I like Mike Tyson, I think he has well intentions. I think these gummies are hilarious 🤣 and I love how Tyson can make light of his worst moments. I think black folks have a great sense of humor and Richard Pryor is my favorite comedian. White folks tend to be nit picky, I believe the term "KAREN" came out of that? Recently I was given a box of Tyson blunt wraps and they were awful. I'm not being nit picky, I actually used the product and it was horrible. I smoked about 10 blunt wraps and I got violently ill. His representatives are putting his brands out everywhere and partnering with a wide variety of them. I hope his gummies are better than the wraps 😁 I'm not in the business of policing what blacks and latinos do as a white guy, but I think it's kind of tacky to nit-pick others in the field over little things. Especially to tear one PoC down, to lift another up? I just think that sucks. Pretty interesting PR move to use a notable global celebrity as an example of bad, to lift up the virtues of his client. That said, I wouldn't want to piss off Iron Mike - even at 58! But I'm just a little guy and a big old nobody. Stu is an expert in PR, so I'm sure he knows what he's doing - unlike me. We're all entitled to our opinions. And Stu has built up a nice hive minded audience who will lapdog and agree with whatever he says. If nothing else, you gotta respect that! Speaking of respect, this quote by Iron Mike is one of the greatest I ever heard. "‘GOD DID THIS’: Mike Tyson on handling criticism: “Sometimes I get in my head and think I’m somebody and then I’m easily offended. But when I know I’m nobody I could never be offended.” Just think of it, here you have one man, Mike Tyson, the youngest world's champion of all time. A former street kid, who has had to rebuild himself into a successful person, making an honest living, being torn apart by a white face. You got to love the audacity! It's palatable! "I have never been a weed tourist. I went to #Amsterdam a long time ago, but that was back when I was too young to fully appreciate what Amsterdam had to offer the world. Instead, I went to museums with my parents. #Museums. What a goddamn waste. Lucky for me, my home country has Amsterdam-ified itself in the ensuing decades, legalizing weed across dozens of states, with more to come. Given the course of both politics and industry over this century, this is a miracle: perhaps the greatest thing our #government has achieved in my lifetime. And I know you’re like, “OK Drew, but they killed bin Laden.” True. But would I un-kill that man in exchange for weed being legal in every state in every way? No comment. Weed is now legal where I live in #Maryland, but it’s not quite #California Legal. I can’t just waltz into any #dispensary in Maryland and start puffing away, and not every dispensary here allows customers without a medical marijuana card to buy everything in stock. Because of all that, I’ve never smoked weed in a legally designated safe place, except for that one time I hung out with #SnoopDogg, which doesn’t count because weed is spiritually legal anywhere Snoop Dogg is present. This is where working for a San Francisco publication comes in handy. California, befitting its stature as our coolest state, has fully legalized recreational marijuana. Even better, a number of dispensaries in the Bay Area have adjacent “#consumptionlounges,” which I will always refer to as hash bars even though I still kinda don’t really know what hashish is (and I’ve smoked it!). My editor asked if I wanted to test out a couple of these bars to see if they’re actually worth patronizing, or if they give off the kind of desperate vibe usually reserved for off-track betting parlors. Twist my arm, sir. Let’s go to the hash bar and find out. Follow me! But first, a quick clarification. These consumption lounges are not full-service cafes. They can’t sell food, or even nonalcoholic drinks like Amsterdam’s weed cafes. A proposed bill that Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed last year, which just passed the state Assembly again with an overwhelming bipartisan vote, would allow these spaces to actually sell food alongside #gummies, pre-rolls, dimebags, dabs and weed-infused blocks of gouda cheese. So for now, Cali’s current hash bars don’t tick off every box on a stoner’s wish list, but they can offer a tantalizing glimpse of what a fully armed and operational weed scene could look like.
