“Before launching the NEJM AI Grand Rounds podcast, we considered multiple formats,” write Arjun Manrai, PhD, and Andrew Beam, PhD, in a new editorial. “We concluded that there are some stories and perspectives likely to emerge only during long-form conversations. Such insights may include the serendipitous circumstances and observations that led to a research study, or the winding personal journey concealed in a short linear biography. These revelations often occur midway or toward the end of an episode. That said, we recognize that listening to an hour-long conversation is not feasible for everyone. Many prefer a more digestible version or to listen to select segments. “Following our own guidance on using artificial intelligence to make content more accessible, this issue marks a new artificial intelligence-enabled Perspective series that attempts to both summarize and extract insights from the NEJM AI Grand Rounds podcast episodes.” Learn more about this new series in an editorial by Arjun Manrai, PhD, and Andrew Beam, PhD, the hosts of the NEJM AI Grand Rounds podcast: https://nejm.ai/45HhFmG Read “Why Medicine Must Become a Knowledge-Processing Discipline,” the first Perspective in the series, by Isaac Kohane, MD, PhD, Andrew Beam, PhD, and Arjun Manrai, PhD: https://nejm.ai/4cDiNKm Listen to the current and past episodes of the podcast: https://lnkd.in/e_PYP-TA #ArtificialIntelligence #AIinMedicine

Lex Fridman's podcasts are among the most liked open RAG models on The Wikipedia of AIs. I've uploaded embeddings of Lex Firedman's podcast with Guillaume Verdon, founder of E/acc movement, to the dria.co Anyone can retrieve the model and search it for great insights. My top queries: Query 1: What does the E/acc movement mean to ? My favorite retrieval: "So one of the sort of meme-like principles and goals of the EAC movement is to ascend the Kardashev scale." Relevance: 0.40839472 Check out the Query: https://lnkd.in/dzqW33Q9 Query 2: What happens if we slow down? My favorite retrieval: "That would have caused huge damage to the AI ecosystem. I want fault-tolerant progress. I want the arrow of technological progress to keep moving forward" Relevance: 0.3672703 Check out the Query: https://lnkd.in/dNi-fwYa

Lead of AI for education at Swedish National Agency for Education. Consulting in policy, regulation and risks in AI.
This episode from the Cognitive Revolution is just so great. I'm very interested in the big risks with AI, and want to learn more about them. In this discussion, two persons with a lot of knowledge and insights have quite different views on the big risks, and discuss their differences in a clear and open way. Nathan Labenz: You are a role model when it comes to keeping an open mind, and seeking ways to expand your knowledge. Thanks for sharing all of this! https://lnkd.in/dP_pzqcb Note: I follow many AI podcasts and listen to about 20 episodes per week. When I recommend something, it's because I consider it especially worth listening to. Tips on podcasts to follow can be found at https://lnkd.in/d6_N8t3K (website in Swedish)

Great convo with Stella Lee, PhD. And Connie Malamed. Thanks for sharing your insights and the framework! I especially like the inclusion of ethics in the framework. I've been thinking a lot about the levels and types of surveillance required to use AI to personalize learning in organizations. #AI #LearningExperience #LD
Really appreciate the chance to chat and share my AI literacy framework with Connie Malamed. Connie's knack for asking deep, thought-provoking questions made it a truly enriching experience. If you haven't listened to her podcasts (or read any of her work), I highly recommend it. 🎧In this episode, we spoke about the various facets of the framework, including: 🔵 Inspiration: The driving force behind creating the framework. 🔵 Seven Key Areas: Exploring the essential competencies associated with each area. 🔵 Ethics in AI: Discussing its crucial importance. 🔵 Practical Activities: How learning professionals can develop AI literacy. 🔵 Framework Application: Envisioning how others can utilize this framework. And much more! 🌐 Have a listen here. This is very much a work-in-progress and I welcome your ideas and feedback. https://lnkd.in/gn46Hr3R #AILiteracy #Podcast #LearningAndDevelopment #EthicsInAI #Elearning

Episode two of The #DigitalDeal Podcast is out! There was just so much to talk about and so many fascinating guests we wanted to bring on, that this one comes in two parts. We talk to Kasia Chmielinski, Ndapewa Onyothi, and Angie Abdilla about how data sets used in machine learning adopt hegemonic discourse and existing biases and, how their work tries to change that. You can listen to it at 👉🏻 https://bit.ly/3ScBD2e, or wherever you get your podcasts! The next episode comes out at the end of March. Hello friends! I'm very proud to announce the launch of my first podcast series. It's with Intelligence Squared and it explores how power is changing in the age of AI. Power is an idea I keep coming back to, because I think it forces us to ask the most important questions any age asks of itself: how is the world shaped, who is doing the shaping, what does being in control even look like? Over five episodes, this is what I try to do. We start with the narrowest lens: power over the very tech itself. What is it. Who owns it. And what does that mean. Then, we’ll move broader and broader in the weeks ahead. Power in the workplace and jobs next, and whether the skills we have now will remain valuable in the months ahead. Next, we’ll look at power across society - and begin to look at the role of culture and background both as things which could be reshaped but also things which shape the technology in turn. i’ll look at the things that have always shaped and ultimately constrained power: laws, rules, - governance, as we’ll see how AI may be controlled. And last, the broadest most expansive question of all - humanity, the singularity, and power over humanity’s fate itself. Is it, could it, be slipping away? It was produced by the absolutely brilliant Catharine Hughes. My huge thanks to her and all the people who gave up their time to talk to us
