We are excited to announce that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Fast Track Designation to our SPL84 , ASO for CF patients treatment . Fast Track Designation for SPL84 is an important acknowledgement by the FDA of the critical need to find an effective treatment for CF patients carrying the 3849+10 kilobase (Kb) C->T mutation, a serious and life-threatening condition with poor treatment options. The recent IND clearance we received from the FDA together with this Fast Track designation for SPL84, currently being evaluated in a global Phase 2 study, will allow us to expedite the development of a potentially life-changing treatment for people with CF carrying the 3849+10 Kb C->T mutation, and expand our unique technology to additional pulmonary indication where there is a significant unmet need. https://lnkd.in/dxcxx9fd

#FDA approves Novartis Cosentyx® as first intravenous (IV) formulation interleukin-17A antagonist for rheumatic diseases. #Novartis, announced that the US FDA has approved an intravenous (IV) formulation of Cosentyx® (#secukinumab) for the treatment of adults with psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA). #Cosentyx is the only treatment approved in an IV formulation that specifically targets and blocks #interleukin-17A (IL-17A), and the only non-tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) IV option available in all these indications. The IV formulation of Cosentyx offers patients a monthly 30-minute, weight-based dosing option, requiring no pre-medication and no lab monitoring.1 The new IV administration option will be available in Q4 of 2023. #Biotechnology

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved zilucoplan, a once-daily injection therapy to now be marketed under the brand name Zilbrysq, for adults with generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) who are positive for antibodies targeting the acetylcholine receptor (AChR). With this approval, Zilbrysq has now become the first once-daily, complement-targeted, under-the-skin or subcutaneous injection therapy available for gMG in the U.S. It’s also the only gMG-targeted therapy that can be self-administered by patients. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (#FDA) has granted approval to #BMS's #Reblozyl (luspatercept-aamt) as a first-line treatment for #anemia in adults with lower-risk Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) who may require #transfusions. The approval represents a significant advancement in addressing chronic anemia in a broader range of patients with lower-risk MDS. This approval is based on the positive interim results from the Phase 3 COMMANDS trial, where Reblozyl demonstrated superior efficacy compared to erythropoiesis stimulating agents (ESAs) in treating MDS-related anemia. The study showed that Reblozyl nearly doubled the percentage of patients achieving transfusion independence and hemoglobin increase compared to the standard treatment, epoetin alfa, with a well-established safety profile. This expanded indication allows for the use of Reblozyl in ESA-naïve patients, regardless of ring sideroblast status. https://lnkd.in/gbW6HxP9
