Thank you for the invitation, TechBBQ, to be part of the panel on how startups can prepare for and ensure successful collaboration with larger companies and why this is important. Karen Skjerbæk Jørgensen, CCO of Trifork Digital Health, took the stage to share insights, accompanied by Rasmus Thomsen from Roche and Thomas Juhl Olesen from CEREBRIU. 🎉 One Year Of Cross-Industry Venture Clienting 🚀 This week, the Venture Client Unit OTTO DOCK6 from OTTO invited all participants to the fifth Innovation Roundtable. This time, we were around 65 attendees. In August 2022, we initially started with about 20 participants. What a growth! 📈 It's great to see how the community is expanding, meet familiar faces, make new contacts, and share valuable knowledge. Among the participants were companies like Lufthansa, BMW Group, Miele and TÜV NORD GROUP. 💡 The corporate venture client scene focuses on identifying and developing promising startup solutions in the market. #Our #2023 #Highlights A great year comes to an end and we conclude by sharing with you our favourite moments of this year, along with a sneak peek into 2024. 1- New TEG-company founded: Venuvio, TEG’s latest venture, was founded by the members Michael Vogeser and Hannes Wagner to enable event hosts to build a custom app for their events regardless of their size. 2- Pre-Incubator program launched: The first iteration of the Innovation Ecosystem concluded. The 4-week program aims to transform promising business ideas into actual products. We look forward to the rescheduled finale in January. 3- Keynote series started:  With TEG Talk and Connect (TEG TAC), we kicked off our very own exciting keynote program with lots of networking and fun. Presenters included Felix Eichler (Co-Founder @ Userlane), Arsen Abrahamyan (CEO @ WeProfit), and Max Pabinger (Co-Founder @ TrendMover), among several others. 4- Companies visited: We connected with several successful founders by visiting startups and gained first-hand insights and knowledge about the best practices in the industry, including insights from the founders of buycycle. 5- Stammtisch: Building on our regular round tables, we welcomed members from various student initiatives, including Manage & More and START Munich, to join us for the gathering.   6- Founders of Tomorrow: Having welcomed 34 new members and 4 new team leads, we ended the year with 48 passionate members. Reflecting on the Pivotal Moments, Achievements, and Transformations of 2023 As we bid farewell to 2023, it's an opportune moment to reflect on the remarkable journey of Planify, a platform that has become a catalyst for innovation and investment. In a year marked by resilience and growth, Planify has witnessed an extraordinary influx of 90 new companies launching on its platform, each bringing its unique vision and potential to the forefront. Planify also oversaw a highly successful exit of TATA Technologies where investors earned a mammoth 162% gain on listing. Unveiling the 90 Trailblazing Companies: Throughout 2023, 90 companies have been onboarded on Planify's platform, spanning various industries, from tech and finance to sustainability and healthcare. Each brings a unique value proposition, contributing to the diverse and dynamic landscape that Planify fosters. When we look back at Planify’s performance over the past 1 year, one gets to see that a major impact for getting these 90 Companies onboard was due to the 3 new products that Planify started offering in 2023 onwards, which opened up a world of new opportunities for these emerging companies. Let’s first take a quick look at the new products that were launched by Planify to help Entrepreneurs & their enterprises gain access to strategic capital: Launchpad: Our Launchpad as a Service empowers startups by crafting tailored documents, including research reports, pitch decks, and investment thesis. Another step that Planify facilitated through the Launchpad was to allow budding entrepreneurs to list their organization on the Planify platform for 1 year. These steps have helped enhance the visibility of enterprises. SME IPO: Leveraging Planify’s extensive network and strong online presence, Planify excels in connecting with entrepreneurs. Planify has filled its VentureX Fund under AIF Cat-1 so that it can facilitate fundraising for high-potential SMEs as an Anchor Investor. These 2 steps have played a very critical role in shaping the thought process of startups to view Planify as their preferred fundraising destination. Now that viewers have explored the reasons behind the startups selecting planify as a preferred destination, they shall also look at a few notable facts regarding the most Startups & pre-IPOs searched, country-wise searches, and finally most sought-after companies on Digital Media w.r.t clicks & impressions. How important is it for founders to engage in activities that don't scale? 🐌 Today, while mentoring the current Founder Institute Switzerland cohort, I engaged in a thought-provoking discussion with one of the participating startups about the significance of non-scalable actions for startup founders. Paul Graham, co-founder of Y Combinator, penned a pivotal essay on why startups and founders should focus on non-scalable tasks. This concept has become a fundamental lesson taught not just at Y Combinator but across the entrepreneurial ecosystem. ❓ You might wonder, in a world obsessed with scalability, why focus on the non-scalable? ➡ Some examples why I believe it's critical for your company's success at every level: ✅ Pre-revenue phase: Direct feedback is invaluable. For instance, asking people at the bus stop for feedback on your B2C product isn't scalable, nor will it directly generate significant revenue. Yet, such immediate input is crucial for refining or pivoting your business model—the cornerstone of a scalable enterprise. ✅ Startup phase: Consider recruiting. The act of recruiting isn’t scalable, but the outcome—securing top talent—is. Similarly, personally reaching out to each new customer may not be scalable, but it's vital for gathering critical insights. This principle applies even as companies grow. Engaging in non-scalable tasks provides essential knowledge needed to develop scalable models. Some critical tasks may never scale but remain indispensable.
