🌟 Reflecting on My MBA Journey at the College of William and Mary 🌟 As I look back on my time in the MBA program, there are three things I'd like to bring up as part of my experience that I feel are worth sharing. 1. Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day The first major lesson that success and meaningful achievements don’t happen overnight. Quick fixes are almost always short-lived and not built for longevity. Whether it’s a project, a career, a degree, or a personal challenge, patience and persistence are vital to success. The journey might be long and challenging, but the rewards are worth the wait. Exactly why it is important to enjoy the journey along the way. 2. The Power of Community While it’s possible to forge a path on your own, it’s much more fulfilling and manageable with a community of support. During my MBA, I was fortunate to be surrounded by incredible peers, mentors, and professors who not only supported me but also made the experience richer and more enjoyable. Building and nurturing a strong network is crucial—it’s not just about getting through; it’s about thriving together. Additionally I'd be remise if I didn't give a shoutout to my wife and daughter who supported me and held me up in my lowest moments. 3. Embrace Imperfection and Take Action The MBA program equipped me with a wealth of knowledge, but it also highlighted that it is impossible to have all the answers. There’s always more to learn, and waiting for perfect information can lead to analysis paralysis. Sometimes, you need to trust your instincts, leverage the knowledge you have, and take action. It’s about making informed decisions with the majority of the information, not waiting for every last detail. These lessons have not only defined my MBA journey but will continue to guide me as I move forward. I’m grateful for the experience and excited to apply these insights in my career and beyond. One year ago, I received a call from the Program Manager of the Alba Graduate Business School informing me that no one before had pursued a full-time MBA while working full-time. They questioned if I had thoroughly considered this, as it seemed an impossible feat. This past year has been a journey of pushing my limits, expanding my horizons, and discovering new depths of resilience and determination. Balancing a demanding job with the rigors of an MBA program was no small task. It required unwavering commitment, meticulous time management, and an unshakeable belief in my abilities. Throughout this journey, I've gained invaluable insights and knowledge, not just in business and leadership, but in life itself. The experience has been transformative, enriching my perspective and honing my skills in ways I had never imagined. One promise to my parents that changed my life forever I have been a scholar all my life, and I have achieved: → Highest GPAs in Graduation → 1st rank at school in class 12th → One of the top three ranks in class 10th Which made my parents proud of me and they always expected high from me. But reality kicked in when I joined MBA. → I lost focus during my MBA → I was overconfident from day 1 of my MBA → And scored the lowest GPA of all time in the first year of MBA I was shaken up and mortified. So much so that I didn’t had dinner with my family that night. I spent all night making ugly shifts from one side of bed to the other. And the next morning, I promised my parents that I would give my best in the final year. That promise became my fuel to crush it. — I studied harder — I participated more — I researched harder And after 1 year of consistent effort, I bagged a Gold Medal! But that was not the end of the story. Rather a beginning. In that moment, I learned one lesson that stays with me: — Always promise what you can deliver, and deliver what you promise And since then, I have applied this principle to everything I do: → My projects → My relationships → My team contributions +Bonus - People who know me often refer as ‘NO BS guy’ Because they trust me on what I say and I value that trust more than anything. #mystory #achievement #promise #deliverwhatyoupromise #liveuptoexpectations #commitment #goals #goalsetting
