How has the New Hampshire Pollution Prevention Program P2 since 1991 helped businesses, municipalities, agencies, organizations, and residents save millions of dollars you may ask? Since 2012, when I founded one of the country's first organic recycling organization to supply urban farms and community gardens, lead education programs, and local food initiatives, I began by repurposing thousands of 5-gallon pickle buckets as waste reception containers, saving my customers $250,000 in saved container fees and related purchasing supplies for waste. Repurposed containers have also saved my own organization another $250,000 in avoided costs. These buckets not only allow for accurate waste diversion data, but also flexible for any limited storage space for my recycling customers, leading to contract renewals and successful grants. Fantastic program and great team leading the community in eliminating waste, improving production processes, to conservation and resource recovery standards! - I am a job candidate for NHDES Food Waste Diversion Specialist Linda McDonald Michael Nork
