Personal responsibility is at the heart of our culture at Berg - 'Acting as an Owner' is a key piece of our mission and values as an organization. Every day, we walk onto our job sites with one goal in mind – get the job done safely. But even more than that, we feel an unwavering responsibility to one another, our families and friends to make sure we all return home safely. Weekly Safety Calls and daily morning huddles help to keep our team members informed and aligned across our sites. Our Safety Coordinator, Blair, makes her rounds to ensure our crews have the necessary resources to prioritize safety in their tasks. Every individual is empowered to give and receive safety-related feedback. Do we get it right every time? No, but do we make a continuous effort to learn from our mistakes and do better tomorrow? Yes - that's how we evolve, and learn what we can do to improve our safety and training practices. This week is meant to give the construction industry, its clients and business partners an opportunity to recommit to strengthening their safety culture and performance to ensure we are sending every worker home safe each day. The focus this year is "Value Every Voice" and it fits perfectly in with the days theme below. "Encourage & Welcome New Ideas: Valuing every voice makes sure all team members have a chance to add ideas and are not restricted to the perceived best practice of the loudest voice on the crew. Instead, they are empowered to ask questions, challenge norms, share different ideas for improvement and solve problems in a collaborative and more effective manner.
