#politics #unitedstates Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy wants to rewrite the Constitution of the United States. There is nothing wrong with that. The beauty and genius of the Constitution is that it is an elegant and parsimonious document, as West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd would frequently point on in the Senate floor with it always in his breast pocket. It is a recursive document, intelligent, like life itself, which allows for self-reflection and change, not ossification. In political theory it is known as Alternative Constitutionalism. I rewrote the whole thing myself (TAMIRISA, One World, 2012, Alternative Constitutionalism: Revising The Constitution Of United States Of America, https://lnkd.in/eqT78dYd), and have been called an ‘eccentric visionary’ by a reviewer who cited me in a book (John R. Vile, Re-Framers: 170 Eccentric, Visionary, and Patriotic Proposals to Rewrite the U.S. Constitution: https://lnkd.in/eqQ7r75p, Amazon, https://a.co/d/bAhYORH.). And rewrote its Preamble by editing it (TAMIRISA, One World, The State, https://lnkd.in/gV5zQANv). The United States did it for the first time when it passed the 10 Bill of Rights. Thomas Jefferson had edited the Bible. The question is the merit of Ramaswamy’s ideas to amend it, and whether it is feasible.

“One of the great ironies of our present age is that democracy’s would-be eponymous outfit, the Democratic Party, has become an enemy of democracy itself. The fact that party activists across numerous states pursued the extraordinary tactic of literally banning their leading opponent from the ballot is emblematic. But the anti-Trump criminal prosecutions and other unsavory lawfare tactics Democrats are also now weaponizing give the game away: Democrats hate democracy and harbor immense disdain for normal Americans’ beliefs. Put simply, they don’t want to leave the country’s fate in our hands. Hence, the current bizarre spectacle of Democrats ostentatiously bragging about the need to save “our democracy” while simultaneously pursuing some of the most anti-democratic stratagems in modern American history.” My paraphrase from the article. The Democratic party appears, apparently, that it will do anything to prevent the American people, themselves, from deciding the 2024 election. How very Un-Democratic of them.
