As wedding and graduation season approaches, we know that dove releases are planned for many events. Would we release a bunch of domestic cats far from home for entertainment and see if they make it home? We're unsure why it's ok to do that for pigeons and doves, when we wouldn't do it for any other domestic animal. The truth is - ceremonial dove releases are cruel. Happiness for these birds is having shelter, protection from predators, food, their flock. We take that away from them when they are released for show. Don't support dove/pigeon releases. There is nothing worse than seeing pets confused looking for their masters after a disaster and you know the pet’s family is worried about them as well.   Here are some ways to be prepared and protect you and your fur baby(s): -       Most importantly, have a plan of where your pet is going to go if something happens.
