🎓Introducing our latest Martal Academy Graduate🎓 Belden Winner has a passion for solving big problems with innovative technology. Beginning his career path as a student of mechanical engineering and computer technology at the University of Ottawa, Belden quickly realized the significant roles sales and marketing play in transforming people's lives through impactful tech products. Belden stated, "I started by reading marketing and sales books and going through courses which gave me a solid foundation, but I soon realized the importance of hands-on learning. Recognizing the need for practical experience, I shifted my focus to learning by doing. This then kicked off my search for an environment where I could learn and be surrounded by experts in sales which eventually led me to join the Martal Academy." In just three short months, Belden completed his training at Martal Academy and became a part of the Martal Group team due to his outstanding performance. Here's what Belden had to say about his time at the Martal Academy: "I had an amazing experience being a part of the Martal Academy. The level of depth and support I got throughout the program was amazing. The fast feedback loop between learning and applying what I’ve learned was great, and having experienced sales professionals to guide me along the way significantly smoothed out the learning curve. Besides the skills that were learned and honed, one of the highlights was the relationships and experiences that were made with the team at Martal (specifically Edd Young and Christopher G.), who made the program enjoyable and were consistently helpful, offering thoughtful feedback whenever I had questions. Overall, I left the Academy with both the skills and confidence to go out and generate sales opportunities for any organization. Although my students didn’t make it to the finals of the 10th European Sales Competition, the experience has been incredibly valuable. Students gained so many insights that will benefit them in the future. Tomorrow, we’ll watch the finalists compete & learn even more! On my way to the farewell dinner & back, I walked for an hour and couldn't help but notice my dusty shoes. It reminded me that sales—and life itself—is a journey. Join our session on May 3, 2024 titled "Federal Contracting Fundamentals for Textile Businesses." During this session, the NCMBC will outline the fundamentals of doing business with the federal government with a focus on the textile industry. Topics include: an overview of the federal textile industry, including buying agencies, obligations, and procurement forecasts; opportunity examples; review of registration processes required to compete for federal contracts; a discussion on how businesses can effectively market their business; and strategies to build a federal government portfolio.
