The rewards of an entrepreneurial mindset.

Interesting to see the most traded wines by value on the Liv-Ex exchange last year. Trading value is a function of price and number of trades. All the producers on the list are well known brands within the luxury segment. Also important to note the top 5 names reside in either Bordeaux or Champagne, the two most "liquid" regions in fine wine. Looking at supply, Petrus has a production of circa 27,000 bottles each vintage and sits at number 2 on the list vs Dom Perignon which produces circa 5,000,000 bottles each vintage, positioned at number 5. The value of fine wine is determined by brand, quality and supply. These three factors are interlinked.
