I had heard from my clients how they previously got toasted by other Amazon Ad agencies, I never knew what it actually meant. Until I had to work with service providers for other services I personally needed. Hiring people to build a website, hiring product researchers to help me kickstart my own Amazon brand, hiring email marketing consultants...the list goes on. I had heard about people having bad experiences with service providers... I never knew myself really, because I was never internally okay with not delivering what I promise. It was until I started working with them, that I realised the difference. #1 Their communication is lazy #2 Their service, even if good, is inattentive to demands which kills the whole point really. #3 And you never know who to talk to in their team. The founder disappears after the project begins, and everyone's tagging everyone. I realised how frustrating a bad service is. Looking back, I don't mind it really. Because it also exposed me to great experiences with service providers. And it helped me understand the DNA of a great service even better. Most people have never understood the frustration of a bad service or the delight of a great service. How can you expect them to understand your pain better? A successful project is not just about running great Amazon PPC, but also making sure it's meeting your goals and constraints, and keeping you in loop on the progress consistently.

Yes, you are right agencies charge a little more. But not more than what you have to lose as a result of poor management. Let’s say for example There is a brand called 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗳𝘆 on Amazon that sells 20+ bedding-related products. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼: Monthly Ad Budget: $2,000 Number of Products: 20 products Average Conversion Rate: 15% Cost-Per-Click (CPC): $0.60 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Budget per Product: $2,000 / 20 products = $100 Clicks per Product per Month: $100 / $0.60 CPC = 166 clicks Average Clicks per Day: 166clicks / 30 days = 5.5 clicks 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀: 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀: Spreading 166 clicks across a month results in very few clicks per day (2.66), making it difficult to gather significant data for effective optimization. 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀: With fewer clicks, the chances of getting sales at the start are very low. 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: But with these clicks initially, only the history of PPC campaigns will start to build and it will be good for awareness only. 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 : From the above example, it is clearly shown that without any strategy the ad budget was distributed. Neither did they get any sufficient clicks nor any sales. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁: Learning to manage your own Amazon Ads can be beneficial, especially for smaller budgets. But without any proper strategy, it can cause more harm than good. As can be seen from the above scenario. I am not here to brag about my agency or something. But if you are on a very tight budget then you should at least take a strategy call with someone. If not then do consider hiring a full-time agency or a manager. That will save you time and money both. PS: I have 3 slots left for strategy calls for this month. You can't manage Amazon with one person I hear it all the time... "We are between hiring an agency and hiring someone in house" Is that one person going to do graphic design, SEO, copywriting, advertising, catalog management, demand planning, strategy, customers service, and more? In reality, no There are only 40-45 hours in a work week Instead, if you hire one person, that person will end up playing whack-a mole and shirk the non-urgent priorities If your business is doing 6 figures a month in revenue or more on Amazon, you need at least 2 people to manage Amazon This assume you can outsource some of the work or rely on other departments like creative Otherwise, you'll probably need at least 3 AND you need systems and processes to do all the work The only exception is if you have a very small catalog (approx. under 10-15 SKUs, depending on variations) If it were as easy as hiring one person, everyone would be crushing it #amazonsellers #amazonvendors
