Any high achievers in the room? Today, I am talking to you. 👋 Achievers want to check things off our list. There's almost nothing more satisfying. But in extremely uncertain seasons, action likely isn't the answer. Now this sounds almost sacrilegious to the hustlers, workhorses, and go getters. My brothers and sisters in solidarity. ✊ But it will save your sanity and improve your effectiveness long-term. If you're in a season of extreme uncertainty, try: ✅ Admitting you only have control over your own actions and attitude ✅ Focusing on the next indicated step, instead of the limitless future ✅ Trusting that a Higher Power will open and close doors in perfect timing, not your timing If you feel yourself forcing solutions and jumping to conclusions, take a deep breath and slow down. You are not lazy. You are not complacent. You are not doing something wrong. When it comes to mental health, I've noticed a pattern. 🤔 Those with strong mental health almost always have strong relationships too. They feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and seen, and as a result - supported. If this strikes a nerve, you're not alone. We're more connected than we've ever been, with less relationships than we've ever had. If your lacking strong relationships, try this: ☝ Pick one person you want to know you better and ask them how they're doing. Then...listen and be genuinely curious. 😁 Be willing to say hello first*. Most of us avert our eyes. Be the one to smile and break the invisible barrier between us. ⌛ Accept the time commitment. Strong relationships can take time to develop.
