I am happy to announce the release of the first draft of the Coalition for Health AI’s (CHAI’s) assurance standards guide that is open now for public comment!
Along with the guide, CHAI has also worked on checklists that translate important considerations for health AI solutions into tangible evaluation criteria. https://lnkd.in/dpas_svu
These documents were produced by volunteers in the heath AI community. Patients, data scientists, providers, nurses, human factors experts, ethicists, and others all came together to share and discuss best practices throughout the health AI product lifecycle. This true public-private partnership is seeking your feedback so that we iterate these documents to ensure that we can innovate in the health sector leveraging AI in a safe, fair, equitable, and impactful way.
Thank you to ALL the volunteers and those that have contributed to this work. You perspectives have been invaluable. Special thanks to the workgroup leads, use case leads and output leads for sharing your expertise, time and dedication in moving this work forward!

I am proud to share that this morning, the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) released our draft consensus framework for responsible #healthAI. The draft Assurance Standards Guide was developed through the collaboration of more than 100 individual contributors representing a diverse group of stakeholders from across the healthcare ecosystem. The corresponding Assurance Reporting Checklists translate the Guide into actionable evaluation criteria.
CHAI is an open community committed to convening and dialogue that drives consensus about how we can help ensure healthcare AI is effective and trusted. The draft framework released today is open to public review and comment, and I encourage everyone to participate and be heard. The public comment period will run for 60 days. There are no limits to who can join and participate.
We will continue to proactively engage stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem in particular patient advocates, under-resourced local health systems and start-ups for additional feedback. On behalf of the board, I want to thank those who volunteered and contributed their valuable perspectives and expertise. We look forward to engaging with you and improving this work.
Excited to be partnering with John Snow Labs in our Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) efforts around Responsible AI. Thank you for inviting me to talk more about this work.
