It took us three years to go from zero to $10,000 to $500,000. Then just one year to double it to over $1 million dollars. That's a lovely curve on a chart. The main reason it is so gratifying is the good work we have done: — It is the equivalent of 2,000,000 meals through Island Harvest Food Bank — or 1,000,000 million trees through One Tree Planted — or 77,000 people being provided with drinkable water through Saha Global. Learn more about why we have a million reasons to celebrate! https://lnkd.in/ek9FjHEG

Empowering Sustainable Construction: Energizing Communities Your Trusted Energy Broker in Commercial real estate and Construction.
Each food items in a typical U.S. meal has traveled an average of 1,500 miles....If every U.S. citizen ate just one meal a week (any meal) composed of locally and organically raised meats and produce we would reduce our country's oil consumption by over 1.1 million barrels of oil every week. Do you know where your food comes from? The farmers in our community provide the crops, fruits, and vegetables that make up our produce section. Farms and ranches small and large are the backbones of our economy. And they need your support! Depending on how we spend them, our food dollars can either go to support a food industry devoted to quantity and convenience and “value” or they can nourish a food chain organized around values—values like quality and health. Yes, shopping this way takes more money and effort, but as soon you begin to treat that expenditure not just as shopping but also as a kind of vote—a vote for health & our countries well being in the largest sense. #SupportLocalFarmers #profoundfarms #texasfarmers #sustainablefarming #DFWcommunity #eatlocal

I apologize for sharing this link on our professional network; however, the reason behind it is to promote awareness about planting and nature, as we believe it's crucial to educate our children on these important topics https://lnkd.in/gUcBMkV4

DID YOU KNOW? The earliest instance of beekeeping dates back at least 4,500 years and is said to be second to the “oldest profession” 😊. AND Honey bees pollinate approximately one third of the food we consume. 🐝🐝🐝 Further, the second oldest trade is also occupied by small/family business owners, predominately men of a certain age, who dedicate their lives to this fine agricultural art. Ben Moore, owner of Ben's Bees, https://lnkd.in/g24pxR3G located in Victoria, Australia, joined me live on air back in December last year at the 94.1FM 3WBC studios. He so generously shared an amazing insight into his buzzing world and what a miraculous hive of industry, love and enjoyment apiculture (beekeeping) truly is. 🍯 Ben also spoke openly about his recent experience of losing a good mate and fellow beekeeper to suicide and the effect on how he now approaches life. We discussed some of the risk factors of men working in isolation and other social determinants that everyone can recognise by way of reducing risk. This is a really special show, so if you missed it, or want to listen again, visit my YouTube channel where you’ll find this and many others like it https://lnkd.in/fJV94My What does it feel like, being you today? www.raebonney.au #menshealth #suicideprevention #beekeeping #smallbusiness #familybusiness #passionandpurpose #ethicalpractices #beefriendly #honey #wellbeing #dowhatyoulove #bees #beehive #socialdeterminants #apiculture #apiarist #workplacementalhealth

Director of Bees on the Roof - bees, biodiversity and pollinators. Passionate about Nature and greening our cities.
I like the way it is targeting specific types of bee like the Large Carder bee to emphasise that different flora and conditions are needed to keep our wild bees healthy. #habitats #native #pollinators #bees

A powerful event that brought together farmers, finance, and government to discuss how our food system needs to change. #SaveOurWildIslesBusiness #Hungryforchange #Saveourwildisles #sustainablefinance #sustainableagriculture #foodindustrynews
In July, Bankers for NetZero hosted a screening of the WWF, Save Our Wild Isles ‘Hungry for Change’ film in the House of Lords alongside our partners at the Green Finance Institute and WWF-UK. Hungry for Change reveals the impact of the food system on nature in the UK and explores what actions businesses, employees, and farmers can take to reduce their impact. It was an honour to bring together farmers, Parliamentarians, diplomats, civil servants and industry executives across agriculture and green finance to recognise and demonstrate the progress being made by the private sector to maximise sustainable growth opportunities in the agriculture and agribusiness sector. Thankyou to the brilliant Benjamin Bryant for pulling together this incredible video documenting the afternoon, featuring key speakers, Alex Sobel MP, Nick Gates, Sophie Bauer, Helen Avery, Lord Iain McNicol and Heather Buchanan. https://lnkd.in/e4rFCw2q

Interesting and wide-ranging discussion about the nitty-gritty of statutory #BNG and its relationship with policies on #UrbanGreening and #NatureBasedSolutions. How will we craft the right policy mix to deliver the best solutions, particularly in urban areas? And how will different expectations of a variety of professional and local community interests play out, as well as those of the developer? Not long now until the sometimes rarefied world of policy-making and testing and trialling meets the rough-and-tumble of practical delivery. #BiodiversityNetGain
