Some countries have voluntary registries for patients with red cell antibodies, but most lack comprehensive national databases. These registries, essential for managing rare antigen antibodies, have evolved to serve broader patient needs. They save time and costs by providing ready access to patients' antibody histories, aiding in efficient transfusion management. CytoAgents’ drug candidate, CTO1681, prevents and treats Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS), which is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening overreaction of the immune system, commonly known as Cytokine Storm. CRS can be triggered by a wide range of indications, including modern immunotherapies such as CAR T-cell therapy and Bispecific Antibodies. Learn about CTO1681 and our science here: https://lnkd.in/ewGhjzRW #cytoinereleasesyndrome #crs #cytokines #cytokinestorm Teresa Whalen, RPh

In this brief report studying the mechanism of autoantibody-mediated severe deficiency of plasma ADAMTS13 activity in immune-mediated thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, severe deficiency of plasma ADAMTS-13 activity primarily resulted from antibody-mediated inhibition. In addition, accelerated clearance of plasma ADAMTS-13 antigen via immune complexes may also contribute significantly to severe deficiency of plasma ADAMTS-13 activity in a subset of patients with acute immune-mediated thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. https://lnkd.in/gaZVcPfA Long Zheng, M.D., Ph.D.

Answer is :A Blood selected for exchange transfusion is usually crossmatched with the mother's blood and should be ABO-compatible. It should also be negative for the antigen that she has produced antibody against. Unless the HDFN is caused by anti-D, the baby's Rh type is selected. In this case, group O, Rh-positive, E-negative, is the best choice for the exchange transfusion. The R₁r phenotype is D+, C+, E-, c+ and e+. The R₂r phenotype is D+, C-, E+, c+ and e+ and is unacceptable for exchange transfusion. The r"r is D-, C-, E+, c+ and e+ and is also unacceptable. The rr unit (D-, C-, E-, c+, e+) should be conserved for transfusion to Rh-negative recipients

Human CD25 ELISA launched. We have developed a new antibody pair for detecting CD25, the IL-2 receptor α chain. These mAbs are included in our corresponding ELISA. With this ELISA you can detect the soluble form of CD25, also called sIL-2Rα. Now you might wonder what’s the deal with CD25? CD25 is expressed by activated T cells, B cells, and monocytes. Tregs, responsible for regulating immune tolerance, express the highest amounts of CD25. Get started by checking out our CD25 products: https://hubs.li/Q01VrPQP0

Hot off the press. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (#ELISA) may overestimate the rate of severe deficiency of #ADAMTS13 #antigen when compared with a capillary #electrophoresis based Western blotting assay (#WES) by #ProteinSimple. This changes how we interpret the mechanism of severe deficiency of ADAMTS13 activity in immune mediated TTP in the #laboratory.

Mouse ICOS ligand(B7-H2) is an approximately transmembrane glycoprotein in the #B7 family of immune regulatory molecules. B7-H2 is expressed on antigen presenting cells such as B cells, #macrophages, monocytes, and dendritic cells. It binds to ICOS on activated T cells, leading to both positive and negative effects on immune responses including its own down-regulation. https://lnkd.in/emx7dnbB #mouseproteins #ligand #B7H2 #immune #immunesystem #alphalifetech

This study provides evidence that clinically and readily available blood biomarkers can be used to provide objective evidence for the wearing-off phenomenon during treatment with anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies and may provide a tool to modify the dosing schedule in some patients to avoid such wearing-off symptoms. https://lnkd.in/eM76ipXK #MS #multiplesclerosis #ocrelizumab

Generation of human antibodies targeting human platelet antigen (HPA)-1a Transfusion. 2024;1–13. https://lnkd.in/gPzdDwVT The correlation between antibody titer and severity of FNAIT has been extensively investigated with no absolute correlation being established, yet remains a subject of debate.1,7,22,42–45 Currently, it is increasingly recognized that not only the quantity but also the quality and specificity of HPA-1a-specific antibodies matter and are related to disease severity. Antibody quality can be controlled, among others, by the composition of a conserved N-linked glycan in the Fc tail of IgG.46
